Llamé sobre seguro de viaje, no sobre cobertura médica. Como pensionista expatriado en España, el agente con el que hablamos desconocía por completo que los pensionistas británicos tienen tarjetas SS1 y TSE. Esto hizo que nuestra solicitud fuera difícil de comprender para el agente. El Brexit no fue hace tanto tiempo y él mismo habría tenido una TSE como ciudadano europeo. Al final nos dimos por vencidos.

Realmente no puedo decir mucho, llame para preguntar el precio sobre el seguro de coche, me comentan que la compañera que lo lleva estaba ocupada y que ahora me llamaría, pero nunca recibí respuesta.

Preguntado sobre seguros médicos, de automóvil y de casa. Desinterés total y absoluto. No perderé el tiempo con esta empresa, mejor acudiré a un broker español, alemán o sueco en la Costa del Sol.

Más de 9 trabajos desde que tuve un accidente con mi auto y sigo esperando que la compañía de seguros proceda con la reparación necesaria. Que son 8 semanas demasiado largas y sin coche.

They have poor customer care. They mis sold insurance to me that was not adequate. I do not rate them at all. Better to use a Spanish company. All my 6 policies will move when up for re newal!

Mala experiencia al tratar de averiguar mi seguro de viaje.
Tuve que perseguir varias veces por una cotización.
Intenté hacer preguntas de seguimiento para que mis correos electrónicos y llamadas fueran ignorados
Llamé para quejarme y a nadie realmente le importó ni abordó nada ni se disculpó.
Fuera de contacto y obviamente no necesita negocios

Absolutely shameful and appalling customer service. I tried to get included in the policy my dad has just signed with them, I emailed Paul Williams and never received a reply myself. He would only ever address my dad, who was not enquiring about anything. No respect nor bother to contact me. Mentioned to my dad he would ring me and never did, I am still to hear from him.
I never received the alternative options I requested to see, in order to come to an alternative solution.
Embarrassed to have this low quality company working in Spain, bringing a bad reputation to both Spain and British business owners here in the coast.
Blessed be the day our contract ends with you so we can leave.

Typical British scam artists. They sold us a 12 month policy that lapsed 11 months later, and when asked about it, I was told we paid prorata for 11 months. Never stipulated in the initial call, so I was under the impression we had a 12 month contract. Now we are uninsured for a month. They are sneaky and underhanded.stay away

One star because I can not give less! Two accidents so far whilst with them, both times not our fault and both times we had problems.
First time around they were meant to provide a courtesy car (for a maximum of 1 week) but they give you a number where nobody ever picks up and, when they do, apparently they have nothing to do with courtesy cars. So we were left with no car for over a week (the time it took to fix our car). Endless calls and still no resolution.
Second time around, we have been taking the car to the mechanic for assessment twice already, the first time the garage did not have the appointment (after we had reconfirmed with them at least twice) and the second time we have spent all the day at the mechanic and finally no assessor showed up (again checked with them several times before to take the car and they assured us all was confirmed).
Probably one of the worst insurances you will ever deal with.

The team at Abbeygate did a great job gettin my car insurance 4 spain fully covered for a UK registered Suburu Forester. Nice being fully covered while in Spain. Would almost definitely use them again.

The personal attention and follow up with the claims process, by staff at Abbeygate Seguros España, has been marvellous. I got caught in a recent storm causing missed flights, delays and lost luggage. They are helping me to resolve the matter of claims which are difficult to navigate for the non IT Savvy!

Paid for a policy that the agent told me would arrive via email in 10-15 minutes. Waited in the dealership for the next two hours, couldn´t contact the sales agent, had to go home.
Called back the next morning and was told that the agent is not in the office and I will have to wait until he gets in.
It´s ironic that British people complain about Spanish professionalism when this is a British run company with such poor working standards in Spain.

Abbeygate used to be a great company, I feel that the customer service isn’t has good as it was, the staff seem unable to answer basic questions, a lack of training maybe? Such a shame as they were

Overall I had a terrible experience with this company and not much I can do due to the terrible DGAF attitude so prevalent in Spain. Avoid. They have their own interpretation of what constitutes good working practices.

Absolutely shambolic and deceitful, even by Spanish standards. In line with other reviews, they are quite helpful before the policy is initiated, and then are very reluctant and slow to answer, and they completely messed up my husband's NCB documents, opening the policy on a false premise. Untrustworthy money-grabbing thieves.

Following a small claim this company has done nothing but pass the info to the insurer. They have failed to follow up when promised and when the insurer tried to use a incorrect contract clause, they just rolled over. When the error was pointed out it never felt like the claim manager had an interest or even understood. I can not recommend this company nor the insurer Helvetica. Look elsewhere for service.

I am in my fourth year with the company and have enjoyed great service. When I have needed roadside assistance, I have never waited more than an hour. The office staff are always very helpful and professional.

I went to renew my motor insurance. I have used this company for 12 years for motor insurance. The transaction was completed very efficiently and in good humour.

Left me and my 70 yr old father in 40 degree heat in middle of motorway broken down. 5 hours later a tow truck arrived and advised us because of this company we were messed about for being English in Spain. - will be looking for full refund and compensation from this company as my father has now been hospitalized due to heatstroke and is now on fluids. Very bad company no regard for health and safety on roadside of busy motorway.

Keen to take your money but failure to pay out when policy is ended early. Seemed OK at first but have since let themselves down badly. We even passed their details onto the new purchaser of the car who has insured through them and they still failed to pay our refind due. Will be taking legal action.

Friendly staff but missing service from returning calls.
This message was 3 weeks ago.
Then the manager Mr. Aaron rang me and promised to send me an Email bla bla bla. Why bla, the Email never arrived. So again empty promise and I do now believe that promises from this company cannot be trusted. For that reason I will not renew my insurance with them.sorry guys, I pay you on time and I DEMAND service and don't accept this as an additional favour from you. MR. A. B, / ESTEPONA

Thieves, I've been trying to get a refund back from a cancelled motor insurance since the beginning of may and just keep getting phobed of by a girl called toni excuse after excuse obviously not going to pay. Best not to touch this company.

I called Abbeygate for a insurance quote for my mototorhome, they said that an advisor would call me back, no call back, so I called again this time spoke with a advisor, gave all required details.
I was assured I would be called back.the call never came. I called back the following day to be told the advisor had one more company to contact and that he would call me back as soon as possible. 4 days later still not called me back.
What a joke what awful service.

Terrible Service. Insurance is meant to secure peace of mind in times of emergency. My experience with AbbeyGates Breakdown services is that it totally stole my peace of mind, in an already extremely stressful situation.
On Friday 7th of June at 22.00 my car broke down in the mountains of Northern Spain while on route from Malaga to Ireland. The car needed to remain in the garage until the new part was delivered. My policy is fully comprehensive. However, car hire is not include for a breakdown with AbbeyGate, so for three days I'd no car.
Corrs who are the breakdown service of AbbeyGate Insurance in Spain, informed me by telephone on the Friday night that they would pay for a taxi for me and my two dogs to make it to our accommodation, which was an 1.5 hour drive away. The car needed to remain in the garage until the new part was delivered. Coors clearly informed me on Friday that when the car was ready they would pay for a taxi to collect me from my accommodation to return me to collect my vehicle. On Monday 10th of June, half an hour before my taxi was due to leave to collect me, and after I had checked out of my accommodation, Corrs rang me to say that their colleague on Friday evening had misinformed me and that Corrs would not cover the cost of the return Taxi. I had very little money, and was left with my two dogs and all my belongings to source my own way to make the 1.5hr journey to collect my car.
I rang AbbeyGate and spoke with their claims officer in the hope to resolve the situation amicably. I was informed that they would check with Corrs the recoding for Friday night and refund me the taxi fair when the conversation stating Corrs would cover the cost of both taxis was confirmed. I received a forward email from Corrs to state they were not going to pay for taxi, with no further explanation given. For the sake of €80 Euro taxi fare, I am appalled at AbbeyGates lack of customer care, by leaving a woman with her two dogs stranded in forgine place.

I have taking the matter to to Finical Conduct Authority in the UK. As it does not state in Abbeygates breakdown policy that return taxi is not included.

This is the second time I had an issue with AbbeyGate acting outside of their policy agreements.

Disgraceful service, Rude staff, complete mess, no one knows what's going on. The broker who gave me my quote got fired some weeks later from Abbeygate. When I call the Portuguese office I get forwarded to the Spanish office just to add to the confusion. The goal posts change all the time. I had numerous conversations with my contact there, Nathalie Pires, who took over from the fired guy. I checked several times that she had what was needed to insure me. A couple of days later I requested a quote and something changed and no quote could be given. The senior management, especially in the Spanish office act with zero professionalism. South African I think by the sound of his arrogant bull headed attitude. YOU WANT TO STAY WELL CLEAR OF THESE GUYS!
