La Vela Azul

It's not nearly as bad as some of the reviews I read, but it could be better, with only a small amount of effort in being customer-centric. Food was OK but a bit overpriced. Location was great.

A mi ver un poco cara la comida para lo que sirven, por lo demás no está mal, vista a la playa buen ambiente.

No es tan malo como algunas de las reseñas que leí, pero podría ser mejor, con solo una pequeña cantidad de esfuerzo centrado en el cliente. La comida estaba bien pero un poco cara. La ubicación era genial.

We had a great time here. Jean-Pierre and his staff were taking very good care of us.
The view is wonderful and the food delicious.

Nice and friendly beach chiringuito. Not as jet set as his neighbour, but ideal and relaxing for a honest and good dinner.

Love this place, we try to get there at least twice every week we go to the Marriott. Amazing view, makes me relax instantly to see it.

¿No es extraño que un lugar tan bonito con unas instalaciones renovadas y muy bien puestas (la zona de playa muy mal cuidada) tenga tan mala calidad de comida, sea carísimo, camareros y dueño antipáticos, incluso quieran que te vayas, aún estando vacío?

Pésimo servicio. Muy antipáticos. Fuimos a tomar unas cervezas por la tarde para ver la puesta de sol. Tras esperar un largo rato a ser atendidos, nos levantamos a pedir las cervezas. Su respuesta fue "no" y malas caras. Nos quedamos cortados con la respuesta, ya que, habían otras personas consumiendo fuera. Si no pides comida no te dan bebida.
Vivimos cerca pero no vamos a volver.

A las 7 de la tarde no nos aceptaron poder toman una cerveza. Sólo se podía cenar. Never again! Nie wieder!

Excellent food - have been twice and really good selection on the menu. Lovely location right on the beach.

We have had two lovely lunches here. The service has been delightful, the food has been delicious and the setting is great. We have visited here before, a few years ago, things have changed since then but it was so good to be back. We will definately visit again. Very happy customers.

The worst service in the Marbella coast. Unfriendly owner and over priced drinks and food. The only reason to go here is the location

This place must have the best view in the whole of the Costa del sol. On a good day not only can you see Gibraltar but right along the North African coast. We spent a couple of hours over a beer and wine or two. Not cheap but what do you expect for that view. The service is shocking so don't go there if you are in a rush but then why would you

Un sitio realmente fantástico, calidad, buen servicio, la gastronomía genial y el encanto que produce comer con el sonido de las olas.

On y est bien à tous niveaux: on y mange bien, il y a de la super musique, une vue époustouflante, et on y est très bien accueilli.

The old place was overpriced, the food portions were very small and poor quality, the owner was the rudest person I ever came across. Hopefully the new place is a vast improvement when it ever opens. We will just have to wait and see!

Ibamos con bajas expectativas después de leer los comentarios más recientes. La verdad es que nos atendieron bien y relativamente rápido. Las ensaladas lo mejor. La pasta muy buena. Usan mucho el pimentón incluso para el gazpacho. El sitio muy bonito y bien situado enfrente de la playa. Buen menú para niños

Having seen the mixed reviews on service I can only think this bar has changed hands in the last year and would say the service was more laid back but certainly not rude. There are few sun loungers and umbrellas out the front €5 or free if you eat there, they are not top quality but do the job. We spent a few hours with some drinks before moving to the outside seated area for food just before 5pm, the owner came over and asked if we wanted food as the kitchen shut 5-6.30pm so his staff could have a break and eat, whilst I found this a little strange he was more than happy to take the order. The food was great as was the wine. A nice place to spend a relaxing couple of hours.

What a location right on beach. Food lovely. The guy serving was a bit miserable else it would've got 5 stars

Stumbled on the La Vela Azul when out on a long beach walk, this is a clean quality restaurant, initially I was only going to have a water and a coffee (coffee was very good) The menu looked really good so I ordered the Bream with vedg the Bream was very good, prices are slightly high but you need to expect that from a beautiful beach front location. Fish was great as was the service would come again
