Since May 2020, I have recovered from a ruptured Achillies & treated for Osteoarthritis in both knees, enabling me to continue working offshore at the tender age of 65 years ; in early May 2020, I consulted with the U. K. Consulate, Malaga who recommended Dr Neuhaus & his team at Clinica Sandalf, Benalmadena.

I have rhiz arthritis and while on holiday the pain in my thumb and hand became extremely severe. I went to see Dr Alf Neuhaus on a recommendation from a friend. Prior to treatment, Dr Neuhaus carried out x rays. ImHe then recommended cortisone injections to alleviate the pain. After a few days, my pain had gone. Dr Neuhaus also gave me his professional opinion on options going forward to deal with the pain and discussed and explained surgery options. His explanations were clear and I am extremely happy with the treatment i received. He and his staff are friendly and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend Clinic Sandal.

In July 2020 I had my right hip replaced by Alf Neuhaus from Sandalf clinic Benalmadena. The operation was very successful and after 3 months was able to windsurf and bike ride with no pain. This was followed in January 2021 by left knee replacement, once again very successful and was able to windsurf after 3 months and throughout the summer. In December 2021 my right knee was replaced and after 3 weeks am on my bike again and look forward to windsurfing again soon.
The staff at Sandalf have been excellent from Bea in reception Alf Neuhaus the surgeon and David the physio. Alf is very direct telling you exactly how it is and is always available on the phone pre op and post op so any problems or concerns are quickly dealt with removing any anxiety, in addition he takes care of the wound and dressings himself and genuinely cares for your wellbeing.
David is a great physio who cares about your progress to achieve your post op aims in my case windsurfing again tailoring the physio to that end, once again always available on the phone for queries.
I cannot recommend the team high enough they have given me my life back.

Appalling, the appointment was 2 weeks ago and still they cannot provide a factura/invoice for payment, I have emailed numerous times and his excuse is he is busy moving house so hasn't had time! Hasn't had time to write up the doctors notes either apparently, I smell a rat. I will be reporting Dr. ALf Neuhaus if this issue is not rectified.

Very uncomplicated, nice and competent doctor. Solved my problem immediately. Highly recommended.

Three years on from surgery & I have certainly changed my mind.
In my experience Mr Alf Neuhaus is a business man first, and an accomplished salesman.
In addition his behavior towards me was highly unprofessional, on a number of occasions.
A Spanish Doctor has since advised me a neurosurgeon should have been involved, given the severity of my case.
I have never fully recovered, daily pain and debilitation.
I have deleted the previous review, written soon after my surgery, and solicited by Dr Alf!
I do not recommend Alf Neuhaus, nor his clinic as a whole.
(On my first consultation he immediately diagnosed me with hip dysplasia, which I definitely don't have! Before realizing I was suffering from a serious back issue. Is misdiagnosis of hip dysplasia a recurring theme? !).

I had a a full hip replacement in May 2019. Dr Alf Neuhaus explained everything simply and precisely before the operation. The surgery was successful and I would certainly highly recommend him.

November 2019 I had surgery on my left foot, Dr Neuhaus explained fully the procedure and the prognosis, The surgery went well, the outcome was as predicted and I have just had the stitches removed. I recommend this clinic and Dr Neuhaus without reservation

I have twice received outpatient treatment and surgery with Mr. Neuhaus and continue to recommend Clinica Sandalf to others.
The clinic atmosphere and everyone there is friendly and relaxing.
Mr. Neuhaus kept me fully informed and advised, including the risks of problems which might, albeit it rarely, occur;
he has patience and a good sense of humour - I had complete trust and confidence throughout.

One year on.
Last year: walking like a ship in stormy weather, I visited Dr Alf. The results of X-rays taken at the Clinic confirmed that my right hip joint was very badly worn. The condition was explained in a very clear, concise and thorough manner by Dr Alf, as were the options available. The operation was carried out by Dr Alf at Clinica Santa Elena in May 2017. Thanks to the meticulous attention to detail and after care, this has resulted in a complete recovery. Thanks also to the team at Sandalf, particularly Bea in Reception ("everything under control") and David Permingo the physio, ("you can do better than that"), who no matter how well I actioned his weekly instructions, always encouraged me to do more.
If you have the slightest doubt whether or not to consult Clinica Sandalf, DON'T! Go to them and let them put you right!

Dr. Alf Neuhaus has the best bedside manner I have ever encountered. I'm 38 years old with fibromyalgia, and I have low bone density so I'm prone to fractures. With each new one I get, he helps me laugh my way through the pain and constantly keeps in contact with me with the best aftercare I've ever had from any Dr.in my life.

There have been times when I wrote him a What'sApp later in the night, and he even met me once after his normal business hours just so I could feel safe and not worried. His concerns for his patients are truly spectacular. He does everything to explain all things that are necessary and also he is patient enough to answer all of my millions of questions.

Sometimes I joke that I'm looking forward to another bone fracture just so I could see him more often as he's also so funny.

My wife has recently had a full knee replacement and the service and care that she received was excellent. After just 6 weeks she is able to walk without pain and without the use of sticks. I would highly recommend a consultation with Dr Alf Neuhaus if you are having problems with painful knees or hips.

I had X-ray of my pelvis done and at the consultation I was told I have hip dysplasia. The doctor didn't show me the scan. Moreover, when paying I was also charged for X-ray of my spine which I didn't ask for. I said I will not pay for something I didn't ask for and the doctor replied I should get travel insurance next time.at the end I asked for a copy of the X-ray of my pelvis on DVD and it turned out the scan wasn't clear and there was an overlay of another person's scan. I shouldn't have paid for this. The doctor also advised I should do ultrasound scan to see if I have inflammation and also offered injections which would be additional cost. I did another X-ray in different country and it turned out I don't have any hip dysplasia. The clinic itself is saying it is less expensive than UK but it's not.

I have been a patient of Mr Alf Neuhaus for many years, due to a back injury in the Army. I had an operation at the hospital Santa Elena by Alf "its difficult to call him by his first name" as he is a consultant, but this is due to his professional and friendly character. It was not my first back op".
Anyway as with Any operation or procedure there are no guarantees!
I was great for a good year or so and then I started having problems again. So I had some Spinal injections which were great but short lived.
Because of the Veterans Agency I had to return to the UK after living in Spain for 10yrs as they wouldn't fund my treatment any more. But I have come back to Alf 3-4 x a year, as the injections he gives me which includes epidural do give me a pain free period which is only limited to the return flight which undoes all the treatment of the injection. My wife and I fly into Malaga, I go straight to the clinic have the very best person I know do the injection and then have a break to get the best we can out of the injection. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Alf Neuhaus Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon to any one. Thank you for all you have done and do for me and Bren

Well. What to say?
I had back problems for a few years. I heard about this clinic and went for a few consultations.
I was advised on having an epidural.
Worst decision of my life.
He punctured my Dura resulting in migranes like you can never imagine.
Accidents can happen but prior to the epidural I asked about the risks and was told there was a very small chance of infection.
Nothing was mentioned about crazy migranes. NOTHING. I went to work 4 days later with the migranes not knowing I had a spinal leak.
I should have stopped working and laid down straight away if I knew i had a spinal leak I would have.
TERRIBLE information about what the risks were.
I am still in bed after 4 months of hell lying not able to move. If only he had told me if I had headaches it was a spinal leak I would have rested.
I have never been so depressed, I thought I was bad before that's why I paid private and trusted in him.
Ruined my life surely a doctors duty is to inform you of all risks involved?

I had severe back and leg pain; & from the second I walked into Clinica Sandalf the diagnosis and treatment were fast and first class. Dr Alf performed my surgery for a large herniated disk at a local Hospital. The surgery went well, and my 2 nights stay in hospital were very comfortable. All of the nursing staff spoke English. Dr Alf oversaw my recovery which was complication free. He is a kind and caring Doctor, with decades of experience. David, the physiotherapist, was on hand with invaluable assistance and advice. From start to finish I can't fault the care I received. Highly recommended.

I have been a patient with Sandalf Clinic for more than 17 years and Alf Neuhaus has replaced both my hips and helped with various other ailments to my old bones. I waited 4 years to return to Spain to have him do my first hip replacement and recently had the other done. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of any type of orthopedic help.he knows what he is doing and he does it well. Just have a look at his photo - that smile speaks a thousand words and they are all good. I always look to Alf when I am in need of help as I know I can count on feeling better real soon.

After more years than I care to admit to of being fearful of the Medical Profession in general, and all the while suffering hip, back and knee pain, I finally took the advice of several acquaintances and sought help with Clinica Sandalf in Arroyo de La Miel. Within two short weeks, the dedicated, caring and multi-lingual staff have turned my life around and set me on the road to recovery.
