El mejor restaurante de la zona. Comida de primera. Servicio excelente y amigable. El dueño es amable, divertido y servicial. Gran tarde. El filete de ternera estaba genial. El postre casero también estuvo genial.

Comimos en El Refugio por segunda vez durante nuestras vacaciones de otoño. Nuestros hijos y nosotros, los adultos, quedamos encantados en ambas ocasiones. Gran servicio, comida deliciosa y el jefe es un animador divertido que divierte a todos (especialmente a los niños). ¡Nos encantaría volver!

Pedí la paella mixta y sangría. ¡Ambos fueron muy buenos! También buen servicio. Comida en 20 minutos. El propietario alemán de Colonia fue muy amable y también el personal. Muy recomendable. Sólo un consejo.haga una reserva ya que todos los asientos se agotan rápido por la noche.mucho después de las 7 p.m. Salud.

Todo estuvo perfecto, desde la sangría hasta el entrante y el plato principal. El ambiente hasta las camareras era excelente. El propio jefe todavía está ayudando aquí, volveremos

Excelente personal, la mujer que nos atendió fue excelente, el propietario está muy involucrado y crea una atmósfera brillante. Su pasión por el lugar lo convierte en una visita obligada. La comida también fue increíble.

Un lugar perfecto para disfrutar de buena comida mezclada con un ambiente agradable y una pareja de propietarios aún más agradable. Estos chicos son realmente entretenidos. Y… tienen talento para cantar

Recientemente visité El Refugio en Nerja, España con mi esposa y mi hija. Nos lo pasamos genial en este asador que sirve cocina internacional, española y mediterránea. El filete de ternera estaba perfectamente preparado y estaba buenísimo.

Rainer brindó un servicio excelente e hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera más placentera con su personalidad divertida.

Definitivamente recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera que busque una excelente comida en Nerja.

Not only the food was Amazing, tasty, traditional in the best way possible.but also the boss and his wife (the chef) came and did sing happy birthday to my wife with their amazing voices. Overall the best restaurant we did in 10 days at Nerja. Food 20/10 and service 30/10. Best experience ever!

Some of the best tapas from our trip - ordered patatas bravas, camaberet cheese, sausage & calamari as well as drinks. Really nice flavours & perfect amount to share. Staff were lovely also & great atmosphere overall

Service is amazing, make you feel part of the family and welcomed back like old friends. The food couldn't be better, I would highly recommend the steak.

What a place! The food was lovely but what made our evening was the owner of the restaurant. Such a happy guy who shows how much he loves serving his customers. Him and his wife sang Happy Birthday to a customer and it was a fantastic performance. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this place.

Booked this restaurant three times on our recent trip to Nerja and each time we were never disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is first class. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the owner is so welcoming. It's definitely worth a visit as it's one of the best restaurants in Nerja.

Excellent meal. Excellent value. Host and staff lovely people. Host especially funny. Definitely will go back. Could easily walk past but don’t. It’s well worth it.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The owner is pure gentleman & staff are lovely ladies. Service is excellent as is food. Went with my wife & son made us feel very welcome from time we arrived to when we left. Might be advisable to pre book as busy. We didn't book but owner was very kind to get us a table.

We had such a great dinner here recently, and fully agree with the 5 star reviews below. All meals in our group (9 of us!) were exceptional and the steaks were for sure some of the best we have ever eaten. Thanks everyone involved (BOH/FOH) for such a delicious, memorable meal.

This is THE best restaurant in Nerja, so good that we not only came back on our last night, but also our 2nd last night. Every dish is superb, salad bar is excellent and wine including house wine is fantastic. The staff are warm, welcoming and have a sense of fun. Would thoroughly recommend.

Schönes Lokal mit ausgezeichneter Küche und großer Auswahl. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und der Wirt hat viel Humor und ein großes Herz. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Excelente restaurante, buena cocina y un trato amable y super simpático de los dueños. De lo mejor que hay en Nerja. Además muy céntrico y a un paso del Balcón de Europa.

Staff are so friendly. Owner is from Cologne and has a great personality and his darling wife is an amazing chef. We ate here three nights as food was so delicious. Highly recommend. Tried steak, lamb chops, pork fillet and ribs. All so tasty. Jacket potato exceptional as is the salad bar with an array of colorful salads. Best food in Nerja by far. Highly recommend.

The best thing about El Refugio is the service, top notch! Rather than an expensive €€~€€€, it is perfectly reasonable, €€. The gambas pil pil were spectacular, the brocheta the pescado was good and the salad bar just ok, hence the 4 stars and not 5. Still, definitely recommend!

Comida muy rica, y excelente servicio. Fuimos con nuestro hijo de 2 años y todo el servicio le trato con mucho cariño y atención. Se lo pasó bomba con el dueño que le hacía muchas bromas.

Amazing restaurant, lovely friendly staff had prawns pil Phil amazing steak for mains and the crepe for dessert was amazing even though my girlfriend ate most of it would highly recommend

With friends, lamb chops for me and very tasty too, 2 had the lamb shoulder and other had pork medallions, all lovely and plentiful. Waitresses hovering after we'd eaten, so felt a bit forced out as people were queuing but I suppose they must make hay while sunshine and we would return and recommend.

Visited 6th Jan 2022. From the very friendly welcome to the good menu selection. Excellent suggestion of wine to complement the superb steak cooked to perfection (one of the best is Spain) the meal was excellent. Good atmosphere and great host. The steak is as they say one of the best in Spain. Would definitely go back. Three of us had starter main and a decent bottle of wine plus coffees the bill came to just over €100 excellent value. No complaints from us. Well Done!

A very friendly and humorous host together with lovely food gave us the best restaurant experience in Nerja.

We have returned several times to this lovely restaurant, the couple who own it are fantastic hosts, such fantastic food, it is a pleasure to dine here, we will always eat here on our holiday to wonderful Nerja, we have just returned home, missing it already

Lovely atmosphere. Great service with friendly staff. Food was good - we had salmon and fried calamari and they were nice. The salad bar is great and you can refill. Got a free shot with the bill and also got talking to the owner and he was so lovely and friendly with great banter. We got talking about red wine and he gave us a glass of a particular one, on the house. Nice touch!
