This review relates to the Café/Bar which is part of the theatre and which is open every week day and Sunday evening if there is a show. You can buy everything from a cup of coffee or glass of wine to a proper meal. There's an extensive menu and a separate one for tapas. Prices remain sensible even in these inflationary times. The staff are very helpful and for those customers who cannot speak Spanish they all speak English. Definitely worth a visit.
Hello to all the cast of the Agatha Christie play 'And then there were None' it was brilliant and I throughly enjoyed it! Performance by Claire was outstanding. Thank you all and look forward to your next production!
Just experienced the most magical evening on Saturday listening to Michael Steel. What a voice and range of music. Definitely will be returning to see again next year. Have had some great evenings out at this venue.
Bar has decently priced drinks and food but the coffee was mediocre and my food slightly undercooked. Service was great and it is a nice place to hang out.
Attended the pantomime Jack & the Beanstalk at the matinee. A great performance, highly entertaining, well scripted, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It was our first visit to the Theatre but we will be back for sure. I special shout out to Dame Trott, an excellent performance, had us in stitches!
Very nice theatre, I got the feeling like I go to cinema theatre in 60's. Everything; performers, sounds, lights, theatre inside, customer, service and in bar too - I enjoy a lot!
A lovely old English theatre run by volunteers in the middle of Fuengirola. They try really hard to put on a selection of shows. Always a pleasure to support them. A little gem!
What a lovely theatre right in the centre of Fuengerola, great vibe and staff very friendly. Sort of bizarre having an English theatre in a Spanish country and a very nice crowd of experts.
Shocked to say the least at my bill! Expensive prices, 2.75 for a tiny wine and 3 euros for a pint of flat beer! Cheap Gin and tonic at 4.95 but English measures! Tasted watered down did not serve at table like Yucca Bar in Benalmádena. Not welcoming, no table service had to wait at bar for a waitress, no one in except me and the wife! Be careful no prices advertised except for Gin which I believe is watered down so charge what they want especially to tourists!
We went to see Evita this evening, seriously unreal, absolutely stunning performances by all the cast, Gemma Llyod and Eva Llyod were simply sensational. Oliver shone as Che, James mailed Juan Peron and the choreography was brilliantly executed by Lee. Every cast member did themselves proud. The staff and volunteers did everything in their power to ensure we were all safe and that the Covid restrictions were adhered to. Cannot praise it anymore. Lastly, once again Gemma Llyod was simply breath taking as Evita. What a show!
Old building no aircon when it is not and the heating is not good. Amdram for Brits, so it's ckickey and the tickets are overpriced. The money is not spent on the building or sets. Such a Shane that as it should be theater for the people by the people. Not a private members club.
Great English speaking theatre run by mostly volunteers who work tirelessly to produce fab shows! A must if visiting Fuengirola! Also great for coffee & tapas or a cold beer of glass of wine!
The show must go on. The staff are friendly and helpful. The work put in is massively better than the other forms I have attended over the years. I will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Love to see the young children involved with this fine art.
Salón Varietés Theatre is the only English speaking theatre in the Southern Spain, and it does not diminish the shine of the place. The building is venerable, almost 100 years, and at the same time it just adds to the charm.
The shows might be called amateur, but the amount of work the actors and crew put in the shows is just admirable!
Well worth to visit for a coffee, or a show, or both!
It's a little bit of home but in the sunshine. We've been many times to see different shows and always come away feeling happy. I hope you keep it going for ever.
Just brilliant. For amateur theatre productions you can't better the enthusiasm and talent. Great shows bringing huge pleasure to the Costa del Sol English speaking residents. The bar is amazingly good too. Excellent service!
We watched Aladdin here last Christmas and it was hilarious, an absolutely fantastic performance for the whole family and can't wait to visit again this Christmas
There is nothing bad to say about this place. It’s a people friendly place. Just sitting outside in the sun we always end up speaking to lovely people The theatre and shows on the whole are great value with lots of enthusiasm from those on stage. Infectious. A must to visit whether it’s to a show or just for a coffee
The rudest start I have ever seen. I was really embareced in front of my guessts. Briĺliant show but very very rude staff. No more for us and Other Swedish fridens.
