Bit 'iffey'! Went for first time (03.23) with high hopes, which were dashed on the floor of mediocrity. Irish booze and speaking English is not enough. Strange layout and very average staff. An activities and music programme would help a lot. I live local but its not gonna be my 'local'!
Landed after a brief messaging exchange to enjoy the French F1. Really prompt in responding via Facebook messenger and very friendly when we arrived. Great outdoor space overlooking square and 3 shaded areas with TV for sporting events etc. We came with kids and they helped make the guys comfortable with a variety of board games. Cold crisp tasty Guinness
This bar is the most relaxed place on this side of the border. They will go out of the way if you want to watch any sport. Have all the sky channels and the friendliest staff. They are planning doing basket food and toastie in the furure. Highly recommended for relaxed and fun atmosphere. 3 years later update. Now has a kitchen and does amazing food. Glad to call this my local.
We were recommended this Irish bar for food & drink, by a stranger we got talking to in another bar nearby. Simple bar food at a reasonable price. Burger & fries for about 7 euros. The place was busy on a Sunday night in March, the staff were very friendly and (not that it matters, but) were first language english.
A fantastic Irish bar with should a great vibe. Lovely pint of Guinness, live sports on the TV. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. And the local customers are also very welcoming and chatty. Worth a visit.
A great stop off for me between Gibraltar and my place in La Línea. The punters are friendly and always up for a chat. Outdoor area with shade on sunny days with a view of the Rock and a small seating area inside. A new barmaid called Sara was excellent. She seemed to be learning the ropes but stood out by asking customers their names and engaging with them. She also used tongs to grab ice, (bizarrely not that common in many places) and kept busy by polishing glasses. They did well in hiring her.
Big thank you to Leffeys Bar who looked after Wolves supporters on 24th July.made the day very enjoyable. Big thank you to the staff they were kept very busy but always managed to laugh and joke. Best wishes from Spanish Wolves supporters group.
This place is awesome, if your looking for an authentic Irish bar, best Guinness to be had, then here's where you need to go! Excellent atmosphere and tayto crisps to top it all off!?
I was there briefly on 2 evenings to watch a bit of footie. Imagine my surprise & delight to find a true Irishman at the helm! All joking aside, I was just passing thru both times. Friendly, welcoming, will deffo go there next time. Woulda got 4.5 if the khaki wasn't downstairs! Nice one anyhoo. Sláinte!
Fabulous Irish bar on the border of Spain/Gibraltar. The craic is mighty, drinks are plenty, (especially the Whiskeys!) Talented musicians and even a fine artist among the bar staff! Ask John Paul about the artistic talent of the 'Liffey'. Patrick will not only serve you an eclectic choice of tipples, but also educate you about the history and evolution of all the different Whiskeys and beers. ' An Irish welcome full of strangers who are the friends you just havent yet met! Little bar with a lot of heart!
Nice and cozy Irish pub, friendly staff and good beer. Plenty of seats outside. Perfect to watch a European football match with a cold pint or two. The Guinnes is amazing, it genuinely tastes of Ireland! Every time I'll be around there I'll stop by for one.
It's a bar opened by some Irish folks that are living around for a while. You can have a cold beer or cider in nice atmosphere - what you could ask for more? Maybe a/c ;)
When all the cards are down, all hope lost, all self-dignity robbed barren and not a cent left to pay for one square foot of rent you, the Poseidon of the local bar scene, emerge from the deep-dark depths of the La Linea ocean riding upon a wave of Guinness, Amstel and Tayto to rescue those who cannot rescue themselves.
You may enter The Liffey as a stranger, but you will leave as a friend.
Amazing pub, me and my friends went here for holiday and ended up in this bar every night. The service and crack was like nothing we experienced before. Could not recommend this place more.
Bueno. Un sitio mas donde tomar unas cervezas sentado tranquilo, nada que reseñar salvo que ya podrían saber hablar español la gente que te atiende en la barra, no es que sea un problema para mi, tan solo es cuestión de un poco de educación
Authentic Irish bar that serves the best pint of Guinness in the Costa. Always has the sport on and always very welcoming. Even serves packets of Tayto! Plenty of seating to enjoy the sun outside. Best bar in La Linea!
Cracking little Irish bar just across the border from Gib airport. Brilliant atmosphere, great bar staff, excellent guinness (as good as the homeland) and they show Irish sports too (i was able to watch the wexford/kilkenny game) this weekend. Highly recommend
Very welcoming Irish bar situated in the centre of La Linea. The large outside space is ideal to sit in the sun and take in the views of the rock. Staff and owners are always friendly and the live music is excellent. Highly recommend this Irish bar.
The best bar on either side of the Gibraltar/Spain border with the best pint of Guinness to be had outside of Ireland. Good deals on beer and every manner of sport being shown with TVs both upstairs and downstairs. Along with live music at the weekends, it's definitely worth a visit any night of the week!
