The Lights Hostel & Suites

Estuvimos 4 días en Málaga en este hotel y todo fue de primera. La habitación está limpia, es pequeña pero suficiente para una estancia corta. El baño es moderno y tiene todo lo necesario. No teníamos agua caliente cuando nos levantamos el jueves por la mañana y esto se solucionó rápidamente. Detalle importante: el hotel tiene una ubicación ideal por su excelente relación calidad-precio. Por otro lado no está muy bien insonorizado y como el hotel da al mercado las mañanas son un poco ruidosas da igual, no venimos a dormir a Málaga Volveremos sin dudarlo, ¡gracias de nuevo!

El personal es fantástico, realmente servicial. Las duchas eran muy cálidas y la presión del agua era excelente. El dormitorio de 10 camas es demasiado pequeño para tantas camas. Es un poco complicado de encontrar si no tienes móvil ya que la calle no tiene nombre al principio.

Lamentablemente una mala experiencia mi estadía de 3 noches en el hostal. Me robaron el maquillaje de mi habitación en Nochevieja. Mi habitación al igual que mi bolso de maquillaje estaban cerrados, cuando regresé a la habitación al final del día mi bolso estaba completamente abierto y alguien lo usó, sin respeto. Debo señalar que estaba en una habitación solo con niños.
En la recepción no recibí ayuda.
Sería bueno consultar al personal.
De lo contrario, la ubicación era excelente, pero una ducha de cada 4 funcionaba y tenía agua caliente.

Mala Atención en la noche y en la mañana, habitaciónes super incómodas, poco espacio, si Tocas arriba en el camarote, te aconsejo que practiques malabarismo, Mal muy Mal

Albergue promedio pero relativamente limpio y social. La terraza de la azotea es un buen lugar para conocer gente y disfrutar de una sangría gratis a las 20: 00. Sin embargo, la sangría generalmente se acaba a las 20: 20. Esperaba que hubiera más por el precio que estamos pagando. Además, tener que pedir que se encienda el aire acondicionado es bastante infantil, solo manténgalo encendido o póngale un temporizador. El albergue ofrece algunas actividades, como un recorrido por los bares todas las noches y un servicio de lavandería. También hay una cocina y un espacio de trabajo conjunto para trabajar a distancia.

Ventajas: La ubicación era excelente, ¡a 20 minutos a pie de la playa!
Desventajas: Sin embargo, las habitaciones estaban en pésimas condiciones. También fue un poco difícil encontrar el albergue, no hay un letrero grande, así que tuve que revisar mi mapa dos veces. La ropa de cama estaba manchada y tenía un olor raro, el lugar era viejo y polvoriento, la ducha no tenía agua caliente y el almacenamiento era un inconveniente.
Almacenamiento: uno de los casilleros debajo de la cama no tenía un orificio de bloqueo y no se podía abrir, por lo que dos de las niñas tuvieron que compartir.
Ropa de cama: me dijeron que mi cama estaba hecha, y cuando llegué a mi habitación, no lo estaba. Había dos camas disponibles, una estaba cubierta de basura y comida. Me dijeron que esta era mi cama. En cambio, tomé la otra cama y tuve que hacerla yo mismo. La manta tiene una especie de mancha roja/naranja que era desagradable.
Camas: súper chirriantes, las almohadas de las camas eran increíblemente duras, la cortina estaba hecha jirones y solo cubría la mitad de la cama.
Temperatura: hacía un calor increíble, con aire acondicionado todavía hacía calor.
Baño: una colección de champús y jabones usados ​​estaban en el suelo, probablemente allí durante mucho tiempo. La ducha estaba fría, y era un inconveniente que la ducha y el inodoro estuvieran juntos ya que era una habitación de seis. Tampoco tuvimos papel higiénico durante unas horas.
No me alojaría aquí de nuevo ni lo recomendaría a menos que estés desesperado y necesites un lugar con una ubicación decente. Recomiendo el Urban Jungle Hostel en su lugar. Ver fotos para más.

Clean hostel rooms for decent price. Very social atmosphere with friendly staffs. Great value for price.

El hotel está en una excelente ubicación, cerca de las cosas más importantes de ver en la ciudad y cerca de la Alameda Principal, dónde se pueden tomar todos los medios de transporte. Es una edificación vieja, propia del centro de la ciudad, pero bien restaurada. No tiene muchos servicios adicionales, poro no los eché en falta por lo bueno de su ubicación. La atención muy amable.

Encantador en su interior, aunque haces check-in en un cuarto piso de un edificio y te asignan a otro justo al lado.
Lo peor, el aparcamiento.es casi todo zona peatonal y calorcito muy estrechas, hay mucho parking público "que te sangran" pero es lo que hay si no quieres aparcar a 3km.
Pero el albergue un 10, habitación limpia, cama grande y cómoda, aseo y ducha en perfecto estado de revista.

The location of The Lights Hostel is absolutely perfect, close to beach, city and trains/busses. Very friendly staff as well, and for €3 you can join decent dinner at the rooftop bar. Breakfast includes toast, ham/cheese/marmelade/butter and juice/ (soy) milk. It's a hostel where you're bound to meet people. The rooms are decent with locker underneath the bed, and every bed has curtains a little basket to put phone and socket for charging.
The bed itself is not too comfy, very basic matress but for a few nights it's alright. There is AC in the room but the staff never turns it on. The bathrooms are very basic too. If you are young and/or easy going this is a perfect spot for meeting people, and checking out Malaga. Hostel organises a pubcrawl and has a whatsapp group too which is nice.
Very chill and positive vibe throughout the hostel. Would recommend for a short stay.

Un hotel económico en el centro de Málaga, la habitación muy limpia y el personal muy amable, el recepcionista genial, nos ayudó en todo, súper amable! No nos gustó el colchón y las almohadas. Si cambian el colchón volveré sin dudarlo.

I would very much recommend this place. Everything is really clean and there is very little noise from outside. There was quite a bit of noise from other guests, but you need to have a bit of luck with that in a hostel. Bathroom looked like it was cleaned multiple times a day.

Horrible 2 nights - worst in two weeks holiday

The pros:
- Staff is friendly and helps within the limits of their possibilities
- Beds are comfortable
- Was given a new room when I had concerns about another guest coughing a lot
- location

The cons:
- lockers are too small for most people's bags, which are then placed between the beds. I could fit my backpack only because I can dismantle it
- curtains only cover half of the frontside of the bed in some rooms - and even if the whole front is covered at the back there is plenty of room for light to come in
- the bed construction is not sturdy enough. If the other person moves, the whole bed is rocking
- showers and bathrooms aren't clean. I've seen worse, but also way better.
- This seems to be hostel for party crowds. Don't go there if you plan not-party-based vacationing or actually want to sleep at night and not during the day, which many people seem to do
- people in the hallway and on the street might as well shout in the room. There seems to be no sound isolation.
- when staff was alerted (by multiple people according to their own account) that there was a person who seemed infected they didnt seem to talk to that person and ask for a quick test or that he sleep with a mask. Instead they moved me to a different room upon request and presumably filled the room with someone else since they were fully booked.

All in all this was by far the worst two nights during my vacation. It was IMMENSELY OVERPRICED considering what the hostel has to offer. I would NEVER come back and not recommend this to anyone. I even considered moving out early, but I couldn't get a connecting train that would fit my schedule.

This is the strangest hostel I've been to. I had the feeling of bothering the staff. I have been to many rundown hotels hostels all around the world but even if the place had issues, there was always a smile or a kind attention. Here is not the case. The lights lacks some lights after all it seems. The rooms were clean, though not in a pristine condition.linens provided but no bath towels which is quite a shame.
The place is not for you if you want to get some sleep (noise inside and outside), traveling by bike (reception on the 4th floor), or traveling on a budget (actually not that cheap, though the breakfast was okay and cheap)

Él sitio está bastante bien y sirve para conocer gente nueva. Hay habitaciones más grandes y menos grandes. Casi recomiendo ha habitación con baño compartido que tiene más espacio

Charming and really social hostel with great staff! If you are traveling alone and looking for friends this is the place to go.

Puntos positivos: En pleno centro de Málaga
Puntos negativos: Personal poco dispuesto y seco. Había una gotera en mi habitación y el recepcionista pasó del problema.
Precio: caro!

By far the most fun hostel in Malaga. It’s slightly more expensive but great vibes.

I tried both the the hostel and the suites. Hostel has a lit of community life so it’s great for solo travelling. Hotel suites are very nice, tidy and clean, view a good view on the market side.

Staff is very friendly, with someone at the reception 24h. Can’t recommend enough!

Me ha parecido impactante (para mal) la recepción del hotel que está en el hostel de al lado. No nos han limpiado la habitación ni nos han hecho las camas. No recomendable. No estoy de acuerdo con las estrellas que anunciáis

El hostal era genial. Limpio, gente y personal muy amable, ayudando con todo. No dudes hablar con ellos. Hay muchas actividades que el hostal ofrece, juegos, volleyball, pub crawls… Situado en el centro, cerca de los monumentos. Sin embargo, están reconstruyendo ahora en la calle al lado así que por la mañana hay ruido. Muy acogedor y recomendable!

Absolutely incredible in every way. The rooms are so beautiful and the staff are so welcoming and manage to speak every language fluently between them. Silvia is the best and went completely out of her way to call up and organise me a Covid test for my return journey! All I said was I was looking for one locally and within a minute it was sorted. It's nice to see a Hostel/Suites with so much life in them especially during Covid times. Still a great buzz around with lots of new friends to meet. 100% would stay again. - 15 April 2021 (3 week stay)

J’ai passé un super moment dans la partie Suites de The Lights! Sa localisation est idéal et les chambres ont une vue sur le Marché, spacieuses, lumineuses! Les réceptionnistes sont très accueillantes et on s’y sent de suite, comme à la maison!

Watch out If you stay in this hostel it's hard to leave again! The people are brilliant, so many volunteers which makes it beautiful. TheLights hostel has an awesome service so very attentive, super sympathetic, and helpful. Here a big thanks to Sylvia!
I was working remotely and had also online meetings and this was no problem since they had also a "quiet room". Also the kitchen is super good equipped and if you love "mucha vida" then it's an awesome location since you are directly in the center next to bars, shops and the market.
The price-performance ratio is one of the best in Málaga when you like to connect, have fun and party with people.
Was a great stay, would come there for vacation definitely again!

El ambiente es muy bueno, la atención de recepción también, esta súper limpio, hay sangría free por la tarde, los voluntarios súper amables, hay mucha vida en este hostel, muy bien ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, buenas vistas! Lo súper recomiendo!

Excelente, me alquile una habitación privada para trabajar una semana desde Málaga y fue todo excelente. Ubicación céntrica en frente del Mercado de Málaga.

Pros:
-Se encuentra en pleno centro, cerca de la Calle Larios y el Muelle Uno (puerto), con un Carrefour exprés justo enfrente que incluso abre los Domingos.
-Hay muchas actividades y lugares turísticos cerca.
-Alojamiento grande, económico, con cocina y baño equipados (toallas, platos, vasos, sal, champú.)
-Cama y sofá cama.
-Buenas vistas al mercadillo.
-La estación de tren esta a menos de 10 minutos.

Contras:
-Es difícil y caro encontrar aparcamiento, pero es algo normal en Málaga. Además, la estación de Tren y Autobús están muy cerca.
-Se escucha bastante a través de las paredes.

Great stay in the heart of Malaga!
It was a fun hostel even during COVID times. The staff was very nice and friendly, and all precautions were taken care of.
The dorms are clean and well maintained!
The common area + kitchen is great and has an amazing vibe! The rooftop also is awesome to hangout. Icing on the cake is the free sangria in the evening!:)
There are few parking garages around if you’re traveling by car.

It is one of the best hostel experience I had in Spain, everything is clean, the hostel is very well located, closer to the central market and the staff was very helpful. I strongly advice The Lights hostel if your are looking for good price, location and comfort.

El personal ha sido muy amable. En términos generales el hostel estaba limpio. Tiene cocina, tiene zonas comunes para charlar y compartir con otros viajeros. La recepción está en la cuarta planta. Tienen ascensor.

Excelente precio por estar en pleno centro, cerca de estación de bus tren y puerto. El personal muy atento y super amable. Su terraza es el mejor lugar para pasar un buen rato, muy recomendable!

Stayed in the Lights Hostel for about 2 weeks and after another 2 weeks in the Suites. The staff are brilliant, Silvia and Elena are very professional and so lovely. The hostel part has a fantastic kitchen and a rooftop terrace which is great to chill. It's very clean and in a perfect part of the city. Walking distance to beach, shops, train and bus station. I loved the atmosphere and also hired a few days a bike. Can highly recommend this place and no doubt will use it again.

A nice hostel, clean and safe, well-located in the city centre and friendly staff. Good prices and 5 min walking from train station to Airport or 18 min to main bus and train stations. Free Sangria from 8pm. Only con is the reception open time from 11am-8pm (maybe due to pandemic/Covid) but, they give instructions for early/late checkin/checkout.

Muy céntrico, cerca de todos los lugares emblemáticos de Málaga, las habitaciones muy limpias. El personal muy amable y atento a las necesidades de los huéspedes. Hay una cocina donde puedes preparar tu propia comida y en la terraza se ve un hermoso atardecer.
