Callum and Marina (owners) provided us with a wonderful stay at the Sea Retreat and we loved every aspect of our holiday. The house was like a home from home - comfortable, well stocked and spacious. The food was wholesome and delicious and a definite highlight of the holiday! Marina is extremely knowledgeable with surf theory and practice, and as a result, her surf lessons were fantastic. Despite being a mixed group of surfing abilities (including a toddler!), Marina and Alejandro (another surf instructor) were really flexible with their lessons, and they were more than happy to fit in with the schedule of our family.
Callum and Marina went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, and really made us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning in the future!
We would really recommend this holiday for a family (of all ages!) or a group of friends looking for some affordable winter sun, with an enjoyable yet relaxing daily surfing experience. The area is really lovely, far from crowds or competition for space to surf, and there are some local bars and restaurants if you fancy an outing. We had lots of flexibility to do what we wanted, with a surf lesson in the morning followed by an excursion or a relaxing afternoon in the garden.

I had my first solo trip abroad since the pandemic deciding to learn surfing at the age of 49! This was a very last minute booking but from the offset Marina was accommodating and encouraging 'We are very excited to have you here! '.
Marina and Callum met me at the train station, I immediately felt like I was in the company of friends which set the tone for the whole trip. The villa was immaculate with lots of space indoors and outdoors, facilities are really good and comfortable which was really nice after a few hours in the sea. I took the complete package so didn't have to worry about cooking but the kitchen has everything you need for self catering. Callum is a wonderful chef and the couple were just great company and incredibly considerate, they really want you to have the best time.
El Palmar is stunning, I went in January, the beach was immaculate with incredible sunsets, great for uninhabited walks in one direction and laid back beach bars and cafes the other.
Now for the main event.the Surf! Marina is a very experienced teacher and knows this sea like the back of her hand, I was provided with everything from wetsuits to patient tutoring on land for safety and guidance. The weather was beautiful on land it was bright and sunny with a chill but amazingly the water was at least 10 degrees warmer! I was very comfortable in my winter wetsuit. We went out every day if the surf was up and spent at least a couple of hours in the sea. Marina was incredibly encouraging making the whole experience exhilarating and fun. Callum is a professional photographer and got some amazing shots in the sea that I will treasure.
Being my first time I did find it difficult but it was such a buzz being in the surf I didn't mind not being on the board from time to time. The villa was so close to the beach getting back was a breeze with a siesta and wonderful meals to look forward to. Marina and Callum also took the time to take me out sightseeing in an area loaded with history, we visited amazing local bars and restaurants with the freshest tuna I have tasted - it was a real bounty of a trip, exactly what I needed and will definitely go again. ¡Experiencia de 10! Hoy ha sido nuestro último día del Surfcamp que además para mí era la primera vez. Fui con mi prima y alli, compartimos la experiencia con otros 3 chicos. Marina y Callum, los dueños, son ENCANTADORES, lo han hecho todo muy fácil. La casa tiene de todo y está muy limpia, y la cocina es enorme, además la comida también muy buena, todo era producto local y bastante rico. ¡Repetiré sin duda!

Estuve en el surf camp con mi prima durante una semana. La organización, comida y alojamiento fueron geniales. Marina y Callum (dueños del negocio), transmiten muchísima vitalidad y entusiasmo.
Han conseguido que aprendamos y nos engánchenos a este deporte. Una experiencia inolvidable.
La casa está literalmente a 3 minutos andando del mar. Es amplia y está recién reformada. Nos quedamos en la habitación en la que compartimos baño y estaba muy limpio. Aunque lo mejor, sin duda, el jardín.
