HiTide Surf House

Mi pareja y yo hemos estado hospedados 2 días dentro de nuestro viaje por esta isla.

La ubicación es bastante buena, en pleno paseo marítimo, es abrir la puerta del hostel y ver el mar. En contra, encontrar aparcamiento cerca puede ser bastante tedioso pero a unos 10 minutos andando aproximadamente se puede encontrar de forma gratuita.

Dentro del tema instalaciones, no cuenta con ascensor, aunque es nuestro caso no era algo indispensable. Cuenta con una nevera en la primera parte, la cual enfriaba poco pero se agradecía tenerla por si las moscas. Los baños no tenían nada que ver con la foto pero cumplían su función.
Dentro de la habitación, que era una privada con una cama de matrimonio, lo más engorroso era no tener aire acondicionado y que diera a un patio donde todo el mundo entraba a colgar ropa, y el consecuente ruido del trasiego de personas.

Lo que repercute a la limpieza, se puede decir que era mejorable, aunque realmente eso también depende del resto de personas hospedadas.

Como punto negativo más a destacar es el respetar el tiempo de descanso por las noches ya que en la terraza de arriba fiestas con música a alto volumen hasta tarde, y creo que hay suficientes lugares en la ciudad como para hacerlo en estas instalaciones.

No tacho la estancia como negativa pero sí es bastante mejorable.

Pasé 7 noches en HiTide Hostel justo al lado de la playa, con una acogedora azotea y dormitorios con vista al mar. Los voluntarios, especialmente Rhianna y Alan, fueron increíbles. ¡Hicieron que las salidas nocturnas y el surf fueran memorables! Excelente ubicación para aprender a surfear y salir de noche. ¡Definitivamente regresaré a HiTide para vivir más buenos momentos!

Fue mi primer viaje de vacaciones solo y no pude aterrizar en un lugar más hermoso que HiTide. Todo se ve tal como en las fotos, el ambiente es encantador, el albergue en sí y las habitaciones se mantienen limpias.
Los empleados y voluntarios fueron maravillosos, serviciales (por ejemplo, al volver a reservar mis clases de surf o al reservar cualquier actividad), de mente abierta, dispuestos a pasar tiempo juntos; después de una semana sentí como si hubiera estado allí durante al menos un mes.
Está súper cerca de una playa larga y maravillosa, hay al menos 3 supermercados en la zona, muchos restaurantes, cerca de las paradas de autobús, cerca de buenos lugares para hacer caminatas.
Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar. Obviamente no es un hotel de 5 estrellas, pero si no te asusta la estructura de las pequeñas camas de Tetris y algunos ronquidos durante la noche (yo me alojaba en la habitación para 12 personas), ¡reserva una estancia allí!:)

Me alojé en habitaciones de 8 y 12 camas durante 2 semanas.
Todo el alojamiento está muy bien mantenido y limpiado por los "voluntarios".
¡Sobre todo, me gustó mucho el concepto de pasantes en el albergue!

Llevo un tiempo en el albergue HiTide y puedo decir con seguridad que es uno de los mejores albergues de Las Palmas (he estado en varios albergues allí). Después de un tiempo, el personal y los voluntarios se sintieron como en familia. A menudo organizaban almuerzos, cenas, bebidas y viajes por carretera para aquellos a quienes les gustaba unirse. Además, el albergue está muy limpio, justo en frente de la playa, y disfruta de unas vistas impresionantes de la bahía y del océano (con un tiempo despejado se podía ver incluso Tenerife). ¡Definitivamente regresaré algún día!

¡Tuve la mejor estadía en un albergue! Puedes reservar clases de surf en el albergue, todos los voluntarios son muy amables e inclusivos: te sientes como una gran familia. Las habitaciones están limpias y la ubicación es perfecta para surfear, relajarse, explorar,

El albergue está perfectamente ubicado, literalmente a 2 pasos del mar. Me encantó la vista, ya sea desde el dormitorio, la sala o la terraza, que te permite disfrutar de magníficas puestas de sol.
Dormí en el dormitorio grande que es luminoso y espacioso. La cocina también es bastante grande y agradable.
Una gran experiencia:)

I already been five times to HiTide and it always was a pleasure to stay there. Unfortunately, this will be my last time. Some toilets where not working, not sufficient hygiene products, lamps in the rooms are broken and the Wi-Fi was not working at all. On top, some of the staff members where very unfriendly and pushy. I know that the staff is always changing and this might be a snapshot in time. Let’s see!

Amazing experience! Super clean, the rooms are very cool and there is an amazing terrace with the best view ever, where you can chill with the volunteers and the other travelers. A specially huge thanks to all these amazing people!

Shameful. I booked more than a month in advance, at the same time I bought my ticket through their website and when I arrived they had no beds (even though they were still listed in Booking) and they cancelled my stay without even offering to contact me with another hostel. Nobody speaks Spanish and they can't give any help about Gran Canarias. //
Vergonzoso. Reserve con más de 1 mes de antelación, en el mismo momento en el que compre pasaje a través de su página y cuando llegue no tenían camas (pese a que en Booking aún figuraban) y cancelaron mi estadía sin ofrecer si quiera contactarme con otro hostel. Nadie habla español y ayuda sobre Gran Canarias no pueden dar.

Amazing calm, bright and spacious hostel first row on the beach with big rooms, kitchen and terrace.best place to stay at if you're traveling solo and are into surfing, exploring the island, meeting new friendly people and recharging generally.

10/10 would recommend and would always come back to this hostel.the people is the best part, it feels more like a big shared flat full of friends rather than a hostel full of strangers.
Of course shoutout to the amazing volunteers Alain, Emily, Laura and Carlotta with whom it was great fun to live, do yoga and surf together with!

I was at the hostel last summer and forgot to leave a review. The trip was unforgettable, the hostel is very well located, facing the ocean (take room 12 if you can), and of course the roof top is amazing
What made the trip unique was the people I met there, and especialy the manager François who welcomed me very well, took great care and maintain a good atmosphere within the hostel!
Highly recommend and will stay there again if I return to the Canaries Islands

What can I say. One of the best places to be in Las Palmas. Friendly family hostel with no parties that will disturb your night. Marvelous

Loved it, every single minute I stayed there! Reserved for 1 night, stayed 2 weeks. Right at the beach, super views (the sunset is memorable) from the terrace, welcoming hosts, comfy beds, super clean. And you can hear the waves at night from the room! One of the best hostels I stayed at!

Hitide is the best hostel I have ever been to. It was my first experience in a Dorm with 11 other people and I loved it! It was super easy to get in touch with people and the room is directly at the beach. But what made my stay was in first place Marie and the Manager François. Marie is the good soul of this place. She takes care about everyone and everything. Always with a smile on her face. You can tell she really loves her job. It is difficult to describe François in words. He takes so good care about everything as if it is his own house. Everything is super clean, organized and he keeps an eye on every detail. He treats the guests like family with his super real and understanding personality. This is exactly how I felt. Like it is a big family. Those two are an incredible team and I would always go to any hostel where they work! Five stars plus

Je recommande vivement l'auberge de jeunesse Hitide. L'auberge est très bien située à Las Palmas, à deux pas du passage de Las Canteras. La vue est imprenable sur toute la baie au couché du soleil. La journée, il est possible de travailler dans un cadre confortable. Le soir, les gens prennent plaisir à se retrouver pour échanger autour d'un bon repas ou écouter un air de guitare. Le manager fait tout son possible pour que votre séjour se passe bien. Les lieux sont propres et les chambres très cosy. J'espère revenir très vite dans ce petit paradis!

Directly at the beach, super laid back vibe at the hostel. The people working were very cool and friendly. The terrace is amazing, Highly recommended!

The terrace and location are great, but indeed zero COVID measures and since at the time I visited there was a city wide curfew, guests and staff were partying until the early hours in the hostel

The definition of a Hostel. Friendly staff, excellent location, super vibe with a great crowd and great areas for socializing (including a rooftop terrace). If I was to re-visit Las Palmas, I'd definitely go back to HiTide. Big thanks to Francois and Marie and the rest of the staff!

Very nice hostel! Enjoyed my work and vacation in one! Internet is super fast and there is plenty of space! Cosy and relaxed! Rooftop is a BOMB! I would definitely recommend 12 bed dorm as its big and with ocean view. If you dont like crowds then go for one of private rooms.

I spent 2 weeks in this hostel and can totally recommend it.
Nice location directly at the beach, beautiful roof top terrace and all the place always super clean and tidy. The hostel manager Francois puts all his passion and heart into providing the best stay possible for the guests. He always keeps every detail very well organized and is super helpful for any kind of question or need.

Necesitaba un lugar para desconectar y escapar de los problemas cotidianos de la vida. Buscaba conocer gente nueva, interesante, aventurera y con historias.

En el hostal HiTide, uno encuentra un montón de cosas por hacer; los dormitorios varían mucho en cuanto a número de camas, depende de lo que uno busque. La cocina y la sala de estar tienen unas vistas estupendas, y bien preparada, espaciosa y limpia. Y lo mejor de todo: la terraza. Difícilmente se puede encontrar un lugar tan espectacular y con unas vistas tan agradables del mar en Las Palmas.

Me crucé con gente maravillosa;

Además de otros viajeros como yo, el staff fue especialmente interesante y lleno de energía;

François me alegró mi estancia con su enérgica personalidad, nos contamos nuestras historias de vida e incluso hicimos planes juntos. Eso es algo que jamás podría haber vivido en un hotel o en otro hostal, donde los encargados no empatizan tan bien con los viajeros. Jamás olvidaré el excepcional trato y su alegría y positivismo.

Armiche fue una persona que supo escucharme y atenderme de una forma extremadamente profesional, y también compartió conmigo sus increíbles historias sobre su vida. Es una persona que inspira templanza, serenidad y calma.

Alice y Luis fueron igualmente una pareja encantadora, muy directa y empática, e incluso hicímos una escursión juntos. Se portaron igualmente muy bien conmigo desde el primer día.

Les deseo lo mejor a todos y espero volver pronto con más gente! Gracias!

One of the best stays in my backpacker travel life. Great people, amazing views from the rooftop. I would recommend 12 bed dorm becouse of the amazing views!

The location is probably the best on the island. I’ve traveled a lot and it’s one of the best hostels I have ever seen in my life. Staff is always nice and hospitable. The terrace has a spectacular view. 10/5 pints.

Loved this hostel! Very nice people and a great atmosphere at the rooftop. Sometimes the hostel volunteers sell pretty good cocktails in the evenings. The only thing I wasn't happy with were the lockers. You can easily open most of the lockers just by pulling the door stronger, because the holes in the doors have nearly the same size as the locks. The lock of the door of my friends locker in the 12 bed room didn't work at all, so it was possible to open the door just by pulling.
Lovely place, would recommend everyone, but please revise your lockers.

Volunteer staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable accommodation, good value in a great position on the Playa de Las Canteras. Good kitchen facilities.

HiTide Surf House experience was truly wonderful. I hit their waves after spending 3 weeks on a sailboat and was welcomed with open, windy, beautiful, minimalist interior design, with friendly, completely respectful and adaptable team and level of cleanliness my friend best described by saying ''Heck, this place is cleaner than my condo''. All thumbs up and all the best, HiTide people:)

The location, the rooftoop terrace and the rooms are great. The entire hostel is also very clean.
That said I was not entirely happy with my stay at Hitide overall. The hostel promotes hikes and other activities on their website and it sounds like organisation is easy once you get there. This was not the case. There's alot of people working at the hostel and many of them didn't seem to know how activities are booked and similar things.
The whole week I stayed at the hostel there was no get-togethers (such as cooking, music,), except one evening that was entirely organised by two guests. Of course this is no must do thing, I just had some really nice experiences at other hostels in the past.
Even though I met some very nice people and liked the facilities, I would not stay at HiTide again.

What a great hostel! The staff is so kind, respectful and understanding. The rooms and toilets are clean and last but not least.the view from the terras is marvelous. I will see you guys again I am sure:)

Ottimo soggiorno! Struttura ottima, in una posizione perfetta e pulitissima, chi ci lavora ci tiene molto alla struttura e a mettere a proprio agio gli ospiti organizzando cene in terrazza e serate nella parte vecchia di Las Palmas.

HiTide house was the perfect combination between a relaxt and chill accomodation and an active and fun hostel. The people working there were very helpful and sweet. There are lots of activities that the staff can organise for you during your stay, such as yoga/surfing/paragliding etc. We’ve had great talks with lots of different people from all around the globe on their wonderful patio. We absolutely loved it!
