María, tu capacidad de comunicación y organización nos ayudó mucho tanto durante la fase de preparación de nuestro viaje como durante nuestra estancia aquí en Fuerteventura. Eres realmente increíble.

Derrick, como surfista experimentado (¡¡¡más de 20 años!), nos ayudaste a tomar esas olas y practicar. Tu sonrisa y tus ánimos de “pádel pádel” son legendarios.

Félix, muchas gracias por tu paciencia, tu amable presencia y los valiosos consejos que das para mejorar la posición en el tablero.

Nosotros dos reservamos remo de pie y quedamos muy satisfechos. El autocar incluso condujo con nosotros por dos bahías porque hacía mucho viento y no debería ser demasiado difícil. El personal fue muy amable y el contacto fue genial. Nos gustó mucho. El servicio de recogida también es genial si no tienes coche propio y estás en un hotel más tranquilo.

La reserva de la lección se realizó sin problemas y los profesores estaban seleccionando el lugar de surf adecuado para el grupo, ¡para que pudiéramos tener un hermoso día soleado en el agua atrapando olas! Nuestros profesores fueron motivadores y muy útiles, ¡así que realmente todos lograron algún progreso al final del día!

Reservamos un curso para principiantes. Nuestro instructor de surf fue muy servicial y siempre estuvo con nosotros en el agua.

¡Grandes clases de surf en el sur de Fuerteventura! Nunca antes me había subido a una tabla, pero gracias a nuestro increíble instructor ¡me sentí cómoda desde el principio! Se tomó el tiempo para enseñarnos lo básico y se aseguró de que nos sintiéramos seguros antes de sumergirnos en las olas. El tamaño del grupo también fue perfecto para obtener suficiente ayuda.

¡Definitivamente regresaré para hacer el curso avanzado!

Nos alojamos en la Surf Villa en el apartamento “Aire” durante una semana y tuvimos un curso de surf de 5 días.

El apartamento es muy grande, está elegantemente amueblado y tiene todo lo necesario. Nos gustó mucho la vista y las numerosas ventanas. Lamentablemente no hay aire acondicionado, pero con suficiente ventilación es soportable. El lavavajillas también fue una gran ventaja. La piscina es muy grande y es buena para refrescarse.
Puede aparcar fácilmente directamente delante de la villa.
La villa está situada en La Pared, un pequeño pueblo surfista. Allí hay un pequeño minimercado y una cafetería. Un coche de alquiler es una gran ventaja, de lo contrario quedará “atrapado” en este pequeño pueblo.

Ahora vamos al “campamento” de surf: nos hemos preparado para un verdadero campamento, con muchas actividades y veladas juntos en grupo. Aparte de las clases de surf, no tienes nada que ver con los demás participantes. Las actividades anunciadas en la página de inicio ni siquiera fueron abordadas y por tanto no se llevaron a cabo. Se celebraron dos cenas, pero no se correspondieron con el programa semanal prometido: cenas variadas, tapas, torneos de futbolín o sandboard. Las lecciones teóricas anunciadas y los análisis en vídeo sobre surf tampoco se llevaron a cabo. Así que si vas a este surf camp con la idea de conocer otras personas y realizar actividades, has venido al lugar equivocado.

Nuestro instructor de surf Derek siempre tenía una sonrisa en su rostro y realmente disfrutaba del surf. ¡Realmente disfrutamos nuestras lecciones de surf con él y aprendimos mucho! Las clases de surf fueron mucho más largas de lo que esperábamos (2,5-3 horas), lo que nos sorprendió positivamente. ¡Después estábamos totalmente agotados! El material, especialmente las correas y los trajes de neopreno, estaban parcialmente rotos y ya no estaban en las mejores condiciones.

Podemos recomendar los cursos de surf y la villa de surf. Eso sí, hay que tener en cuenta que esto no es un campamento, sino una escuela de surf. También recomendamos encarecidamente un coche para la villa de surf.

We surfed with this school for 3 days and we had the best time. Our teacher Derek was simply amazing, full of energy and motivating us all the time. He took us to different beaches and we had the opportunity to see different parts of the coast, in the overall we had so much fun and we learnt a lot. We will definitely come back. Thank you again Derek!

Just got back from an amazing week of surfing with OTRO MODO! Our friendly instructor Carola was very helpful and gave personalised feedback to everyone on how to improve their surfing skills. We checked the surf conditions daily and they took us to the best spot. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us. 10/10 would surf with them again!

Great week spent at Otro Modo, the surf coaches James and Carola were lovely and very helpful, my surfing definitely improved a lot. They took us to different beaches as well and always made sure we were safe and not in the way of the locals.
The city is lovely, the hostel was only a 5min walk from the beach and across the road from a EuroSpar, which was perfect and the surfing always cured my sleep deprivation and hangover. 10/10

I went to OTRO MODO with my University Surf Club in December.

For surf lessons: We were taken to the most suitable spots on the island for our ability levels and there were a wide range of NSP and foam boards available to choose from. Carola, our surf instructor, was fantastic - she split her time between the group getting absolute beginners standing confidently and consistently and developing intermediate surfers at the same time. She made the lessons and even the warm ups fun! The other group had James for their instructor who was equally great.

Wetsuits are provided but I would recommend bringing your own if possible.

For Accomodation, OTRO MODO set us up with TAO apartments. We had a selection of three bed apartments with one of the beds being the sofa bed. The apartments are clean and provide plenty of room and are certainly suitable for us.

The booking process was complicated by several members of our group catching covid in the days leading to the trip. The team at OTRO MODO were very understanding, and even though we reduced numbers, our price per person was kept the same.

Overall a fantastic surf school and a well run business.

Really enjoyed my surf trip with OTRO MODO surfcamp. First of all the teachers were amazing; Carola, James, Theo and Derek. The lessons were fun and informative. Thereby, it was fun that we got to see some different spots where we could surf. Would def recommend this trip!

I had a great week at the surf camp! You shouldn't count on every single detail on their website but my surf instructors Caro, James and Derek were really nice as well as Hannah from the office and all the other guests. A lot of solo travelers. Easy to connect to other people. Rooms at TAO apartement are spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend
