Restaurante Tandoori Masala

Había reservado una mesa. La primera impresión fue que la persona que conocimos no parecía nada feliz. La habitación era mucho más pequeña y no tan ventilada como se da la impresión en la página web. En realidad no había muchos comensales, pero todo parecía extremadamente lento y desorganizado. Después de 40 minutos de espera, todavía no habíamos podido pedir bebidas. Calculamos que pasará al menos otra hora antes de que tengamos comida en la mesa. Decidió dejar. No se siente bien cuando has reservado una mesa, pero el restaurante ya parecía tener más que hacer de lo que podían manejar y queríamos pasar una agradable velada. Basamos tres estrellas para la comida en el hecho de que los pocos comensales que lograron conseguir comida parecían satisfechos. En cambio, resultó ser otro restaurante indio a un par de cuadras de distancia, donde nos recibió una sonrisa de bienvenida, un servicio perfecto y platos de curry extremadamente buenos.

Este indio es una visita obligada. La comida era absolutamente deliciosa y muy recién hecha. El mejor bhaji de cebolla que he probado, muy fresco. El lugar estaba impecable. Gran servicio también. 10/10

Excelente comida y excelente personal. Estuvimos aquí de vacaciones por 10 noches y vinimos aquí dos veces.
Sería muy recomendable.

Excelentes comidas aquí. Recién cocinado. Varios niveles de picante de especias lograron terminar en una comida perfecta para nosotros.

Un muy buen lugar para probar la auténtica experiencia de la comida india. Delicioso y buen servicio, porciones generosas. Te recomiendo encarecidamente que lo pruebes (no olvides el lassi de mango si tomas algo picante)

We came to gran can for a weeks holiday and was recommended here by a friend that had visited previously. The food is absolutely beautiful. The best Indian food I have ever had! It’s so good that me and 3 friends came back again for our final night! Would 100% recommend! Lovely service, amazing food! Thank you so much! I want to come back to Gran Canaria just to have this meal again! Delicious!

Typical Indian restaurant. Decent food but fairly small portions.the breads were poor & small.

Very unassuming type of place.the sort you go to expecting something average. How wrong we were. The welcome was warm and polite. Staff softly spoken made the welcome complete. Food was perfect. Off to a good start when the waiter asked how we liked a curry (mild to hot). (This told us that the food was going to be cooked to order). Anyway I digress.food arrived and it was absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps the onion bhaji was not quite what we expected, but what the hell, they were fine. Main courses perfect. I'm a great saag fan, chicken saag was on the menu so i asked if I could have a chicken TIKKA saag. No problem.perfect. Cant wait to go back!

The stars are only for taste - the food is really delicious, but service is poor. No greeting at the entrance, we had 3 different waiters come to our table and time between courses was so long we forgot what we were having. Everyone around us also looked disturbed by the speed of service (the staff's excuse was takeaway orders).

La comida está buena pero para mi es muy cara y lo q trae es muy poco tres pedacitos de pollo y el helado 5 euros y literal es das cucharadas

Turned up for dinner and was met with apathetic waitress who flicked her hand toward a table. No friendliness, no greeting. Sat waiting unacceptable time for some kind of service from the staff and noticed same waitress presenting menus to a family that arrived after us. Last straw. Got up and left. First time I've reviewed a restaurant that I didn't actually end up eating in because we were not approached for any kind of order. Appalling service. Avoid like the plague.

Wow, à essayer absolument, excellent restaurant indien, le meilleur resto de tout Gran Canaria (en 2 mois de resto)! Service d'une grande délicatesse, tous les plats sont exquis, il vous offre les plats selon vos goûts (piquant ou doux), le décor est charmant et typique de l'Inde. Le personnel est adorable. La qualité est toujours au rendez-vous, et les prix sont très abordables. Repas sur place ou à emporter

I have no idea why anyone has left a bad rating for this place. Great curry. We had a Karahi and a Madras. Both excellent. Naan was great and friendly service too.

If you like Indian food look no further! We love indian food and stumbled upon this one just by coincidence and glad we did! We've had indian food in many different countries and know the difference between authentic food and copies. Went back several time when in Gran Canaria where we have also tested the other indian restaurants. Highly recommend!

Second visit this holiday, the service is excellent, the food is incredible, service with a smile I only wish I could rate this restaurant 10 stars as 5 just isn't enough.

Several of our Indian friends recommended this place, so upon having a stroll on the main street of Playa del Ingles, Avenida de Tirajana, a big sign with ”Tandoori” appeared in front of us. After some doubt, we decided to give it a try. Don’t let the interior put you off with its slightly shabby details because what’s inside is a hidden gem of flavours waiting for you. A nice young man came to serve us with a gentle voice and was polite in every way. My husband took the Tikka Masala with rice and cheese nan, I took a vegetarian dish that the young man chose with a garlic & cheese nan, accompanied with what, in my humble opinion, must have been the nicest Lassi (a cold yoghurt drink) in Europe. The taste was not too salty and the creaminess was to die for. The food arrived after merely 15 minutes and upon tasting it, I could have sworn to be almost back in Southeast Asia. A swirl of flavours exploded in my mouth with the right touch of spiciness and a lightly sweet touch. My husband’s Tikka Masala came served on a bed of onions, cheese, and soft, juicy chicken. The sauce that went with it came on the side which we greatly appreciate, as we prefer putting sauce ourselves. Each time he took a bite, his eyes would cast up to the sky in a way that only people who eat really good food would do.

The food was so good, that I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. If you’d like a taste of real quality with a kind service, you must visit this place.

Nunca había probado la comida Hindú. Me gustó todo todo lo que pedimos, sin duda volvería a repetir. Precios acordé a calidad. Servicio muy atento.

We decided to go to this place after reading the reviews online. The staff were friendly and inviting. As an Indian, I was looking forward to tasting the food after all the great reviews. Someone had written that they’d travel all the way to the island just to have a meal here! But unfortunately, in my opinion, such reviewers are not accustomed to an Indian palate. The starters were so dramatically coloured that it was off-putting in the very beginning, the flavours of all the three dishes (tandoori chicken, butterfly prawn and lamb sheek kebab) were underflavoured and flat. The texture of the sheek kebab was pasty, plastic-like without any feel of the mince. The main course was good (pilau rice and lamb balti), although the rice portion was rather small. The overall experience here (food-wise) was disappointing. Pardon me for not colouring my words like your food.

Finally we found food with flavour on this dry island. Not a great location but service and food that made us happy to spend our last euros. Order Mixed Grill medium strong with Rice, Nam bread, a cold beer and you’ll walk out of here with a smile.

Second visit in a week. Good quality food freshly prepared. Not greasy. Generally generous portions. Excellent service, no pressure. Food served on hot plates, which can be unusual here but I like.

Overall everything was good, but we thougt the food we orderd (chicken tikka masala) didnt taste very much.

Totalmente recomendable. Comida muy sabrosa, con el picante justo. Volveremos 100%. Llevan tan solo 6 meses abiertos por lo que nos comentó el camarero. Lo que pedimos: Entrantes Cebolla Bhajee y Peshwari Nan. Segundos Pollo a la mantequilla y arroz blanco. Todo estuvo muyyy rico.

What a fabulous restaurant! This place is run by the staff from the delightful - but closed - Indian restaurant in Yumbo. So glad to have them back! The food is AMAZING, and I can't recommend highly enough.
It's quite obvious the decor used to be a Chinese restaurant, and I hope they will change the interior over time. But Rome want built in a day!

Great place! We had an Indian meal here tonight and the quality of the food was great, seriously great. We had to wait almost an hour for the food to arrive.but good food is always worth the wait. Make sure you order some popadoms so you don't get too hungry. Good customer service too.

Best meal I had on this holiday. In fact, best curry I’ve had in ages! Very friendly and efficient service. Great range of choices on the menu. Particular appreciation for the cleanliness of the bathroom facility!

Prawn puri is lovely but disappointed with the main. We had a lamb Tikka masala and mango chicken and we both thought it was very bland and
tastless. Come here as the reviews were good but wouldn't return unfortunately.also ordered popadoms and was told they didn't have any. Never heard that before in a Indian restaurant.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere with authentic Indian music. Very friendly staff who are interested in making your dining experience as enjoyable as possible. The prices seem reasonable. Once again, the food - it's amazing.

Excellent Place for Indian food. No complaints on any single item we ordered. We were a group of 6 and were reasonably hungry. We were the only ones in the restaurant at that hour (3: 30 Pm). We had ordered Butter Nan, Garlic Nan, Hara Bara Kebab, Vegetarian Samosa, Karahi Paneer, Dal Makani, Jeera Rice, Sweet Lassi, Salt Lassi and Mango Lassi. All of the food tasted excellent. Jeera rice may have had a little too much oil. Sid was our waiter and I believe he did a fine job at it. He was patient and friendly at all times. I would recommend this place for someone hungry for excellent Indian food.

Ganz hervorragende indische Küche. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal das auch "Unwissende" gut durch die Speisekarte führt. Gute Portion zu absolut fairem Preis und geschmacklich absolut Top. Wir werden öfter kommen.

Très bon restaurant indien. Service irréprochable, la cuisine est très bonne bonne. Un vrai régal et une véritable alternative entre les soldes grillées et les viandes rouges sans aucune saveur le plus souvent dans les restaurants des canaries. Pas toujours bien sûr. A recommander sans retenue.

Authentic Indian food with excellent service. Naan, roti and curries were all good. Mango lassi was one of the best I've had.
Only negative was that some of the curries had a bit too much oil
