Sol y Mar Surf Camp

En general valoro positivamente la estancia en este hostel,muy bien situado,limpio y con baños sificientes para todo el personal alojado,desayuno para mi suficiente,cereales,yogurt,jamon,queso y pan,ademas de cafe y zumo de naranja.

El servicio,Angels se ha portado estupendamente y siempre te ayudara en todo lo que pueda.

Lo negativo,aunque no hice uso de ellas,el precio de la taquilla para dejar la mochila,10 euros,independientemente del tiempo que estes,si estas un dia 10 euros,si estas un mes 10 euros tambien.

El servicio de alquiler de bicicletas,el precio por dia de estas bicicletas es de 10 euros,pero estan reventadas,mejor pagar 15 en cualquiera de los sitios que se dedican a alquilarlas,ademas,tuve una despedida agridulce porque me cobraron aparte 15 euros por un candado que no perdi,asi que por esa parte muy mal.

Conclusion,volveria a este hostel,pero por la mala experiencia de la bicicleta no contrataria ningun servicio.

Viajaba solo a Fuerteventura para vivir una experiencia de surf con la escuela de surf Flag y también elegí su alojamiento, el albergue Sol y Mar, para pasar una semana entera. El albergue tiene un ambiente muy acogedor y sencillo donde es fácil conectarse con otras personas que viajan solas. Estuvieron presentes todos los grupos de edad, desde 20 hasta 60 años. Las comodidades son sencillas pero funcionales. Tuve una estancia agradable e inmediatamente me sentí muy bienvenido gracias a Angels. También puedo recomendar sus clases de yoga :)

Reserve una habitación un viernes y dos dias después decido anular porque ha habido un error en la compra de mis vuelos. (justificado) Un error que todo ser humano puede tener. He hablado con el hotel y se niegan a devolverme el dinero que pague y no me dan opción a cambiar las fechas porque son menos dias de los que reserve. Entiendo y respeto siempre las politicas de cancelación pero creo que avisar con tanta antelación (faltan 3 semanas) y a demas hacia solo 2 dias que he reservado todo el mundo lo puede entender. Quieren quedarse mi dinero sin darme un servicio y no dan opción alguna de diálogo y entendimiento. No sé como sera el hotel pero el trato y la poco empatia deja mucho que desear. Yo valoraria antes de reservar con ellos.

Me lo pasé muy bien alojándome en el albergue. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y hay muchos baños, lo cual es genial. También hay un par de cocinas y una azotea fantástica con hamacas. Está súper cerca de todo: la playa, los bares y restaurantes, supermercados y escuelas de surf. ¡Angels también fue de gran ayuda al dar ideas de cosas que hacer en la isla, asegurándose de que la estés pasando bien, ofreciendo experiencias y una deliciosa paella! ¡Muy recomendable alojarse aquí!

Hostal limpio y ubicación perfecta. Personal amable y servicial. Beatrice hizo todo lo posible para ayudarme a administrar la reserva de mi curso de windsurf y reemplazarlo con otro dadas las condiciones climáticas menos que ideales. Ángela muy buena ayudándome a organizar mis vacaciones. ¡Nos vemos pronto!

Muy buen lugar cuando viajas solo. Quizá un poco alto el precio pero bueno. Buena atención y ubicación perfecta.

At first, I thought the business was just poorly managed, so I assumed the best intentions. When the attempts of extortion and intimidation became more frequent I had to seek the police. I’ll just mention a couple of the kinds of scams that apparently Beatrice and Mathias present to the clients when they try to book classes or accommodation:
1. They give you wrong prices and try to extort you.
2. They are partners with this set of scammers from flagbeach
3. One of the staff members, a guy called Mathias, had the key and access to the sol y mar rooms. One of the days he just entered my room while the cleaning lady was there and just hang out there staring at me. Another staff member arrived 20 min earlier than the agreed time to pick me up and just felt comfortable banging on the bathroom door and screaming at me to hurry up while I was taking a shower.
4. On the morning of my last day, they tried a very weird scam: they called my husband to tell him I had gone missing. Of course, my husband calls me and everything is fine. A few minutes later I get a weird call from someone screaming at me saying that I stole the room key (!), that I had to inform them exactly where I was and had to pay a fee. If I didn’t pay “they couldn’t guarantee I’d get to the airport”
5. When the previous extortion didn’t work they tried to raise the fee for the class I had previously hired from 75 to 90 euros.
All to say, avoid these businesses related to flag beach and sol y mar. They run an illegal operation on the beach, I heard a policeman saying they set camp in a protected area.

Very poor. Doesn’t deserve for 4 stars on Google

Poor wifi connection, mosquitos (we were asked to buy mosquito repellent by ourselves), long waiting time for hot water in the shower (not sustainable at all, especially on island), refrigerators overloaded with food which smelled bad, the light in the bathroom didn't work sometimes, there were cockroaches in the bathroom, peeling paint from the ceiling, humidity and mold, loud door locks which disturbs sleep.

Great place - very nice staff. Informal and relaxed but professional. Well organised, Rachel and Angels are tip top. I shall return!

Me encantó, la atención es muy buena, el lugar se mantiene limpio, en el segundo piso tiene una terraza donde puedes pasar el rato, y si quieres hacer algo de comer también puedes. Volvería mil veces!

Es un excelente hostal y las chicas que trabajan allí son muy buenas dan un buen servicio sin duda volveremos gracias por todo saludos de Natacha y Jefferson

Al principio pensé que el negocio estaba mal administrado, así que asumí que tenía las mejores intenciones. Cuando los intentos de extorsión e intimidación se hicieron más frecuentes tuve que buscar a la policía. Solo mencionaré un par de tipos de estafas que aparentemente Beatrice y Mathias presentan a los clientes cuando intentan reservar clases o alojamiento:
1. Te dan precios equivocados y tratan de extorsionarte.
2. Son socios de este grupo de estafadores de Flagbeach.
3. Uno de los miembros del personal, un tipo llamado Mathias, tenía la llave y el acceso a las habitaciones de Sol y Mar. Uno de los días entró a mi habitación mientras la señora de la limpieza estaba allí y se quedó allí mirándome. Otro miembro del personal llegó 20 minutos antes de la hora acordada para recogerme y se sintió cómodo golpeando la puerta del baño y gritándome que me diera prisa mientras me duchaba.
4. En la mañana de mi último día, intentaron una estafa muy extraña: llamaron a mi marido para decirle que había desaparecido. Por supuesto, mi marido me llama y todo está bien. Unos minutos más tarde recibo una llamada extraña de alguien que me grita diciendo que robé la llave de la habitación (!), que tenía que informarles exactamente dónde estaba y que tenía que pagar una tarifa. Si no pagaba “no podían garantizar que llegaría al aeropuerto”
5. Cuando la extorsión anterior no funcionó intentaron subirme el precio de la clase que había contratado previamente de 75 a 90 euros.
Todo lo dicho, evita estos negocios relacionados con flag beach y sol y mar. Hacen un operativo ilegal en la playa, escuché a un policía decir que acamparon en un área protegida.

Gran lugar - personal muy agradable. Informal y relajado pero profesional. Bien organizados, Rachel y Angels son excelentes. ¡Yo debería volver!

Great and clean hostal, in a calm Arena but close to all the restaurants, night life and city beaches. Especially Angels and Natalia created that wonderful atmosphere which made that stay so nice! Thanks!

It was a nice place to stay! I guess i was lucky with the amount of nice people that were staying at the same time, because later on my stay it was more quiet. Ivan is a nice guy, also it’s a hostel after all and for the price/quality i would give it a proper 8/10.

Fantastic hostel to stay. I've stayed in many places in Corralejo and this place was by far my favourite. Superb two months. Great, reasonable price. Kept very clean by the amazing Natalia who works hard to keep the place clean every day. The office girls who stop by every morning are always lovely and helpful. Close to beaches, restaurants, bars and clubs, the harbour, the coast, the centre of town.everything you want is within walking distance.
Kitchen has great facilities, the Wifi is strong (I worked remotely) and there's tons of bathrooms for everyone. Rooms are lovely and no bunk beds is a bonus. Rooms could do with fans as sometimes can get a bit hot. Really great communal living room and roof terrace to hang out with other people at the hostel - oh yeah, the people staying at this hostel are great. Always attracts a good crowd! The nightlife in the area is always fun.
And Ivan, how could I forget Ivan, the best hostel volunteer ever. He'll make your holiday and help you with anything you need. The nicest guy to have around. Sol y Mar are lucky to have him. Just make sure you wash up your dishes, that's not his job!
You can also do surf/kite/wind lessons with the company that own Sol y Mar, they pick you up from the hostel and have fantastic instructors! All in all, really recommend the stay here. Great price for a great place and it's location in Corralejo is unbeatable.

Had a fantastic stay there! The staff was super friendly and we felt well taken care of. If you’re coming to Fuerteventura to do any kind of watersport, this is the place to stay at!

Had a really nice stay again. Felt well taken care of. The hostel has nice beds, rooms with not too many beds (1-4), it’s cleaned daily, nice staff. It‘s all organised well and with great service. It‘s great value for money.
And besides all that the atmosphere is great. It has been a joy to stay there

Originally an old fishermans house, converted into a hostel a few decades ago, Sol Y Mar is probably one of the longest running hostels in Corralejo.

I've stayed here around half a dozen times over the last 3 years and I'll keep coming back.

The building is clean and comfortable and the rooms are bigger than most hostels I've stayed in (I've been to a few around the world).

Staff are friendly and helpful, and it's always a pleasure to see them again each time I visit.

Disfruté mucho de la estancia por la amabilidad tanto del personal como de los huéspedes. Ambiente abierto, relajado y simpático. No faltan articulos de limpieza nunca y se puede cocinar comodamente si se desea.

El personal siempre dispuesto a ayudar e informar.

Desayuno abundante.

En resumen una buena experiencia. Con seguridad tengo ganas del volver en cuanto el trabajo me lo permita.
