Alexandra Barcelona Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

Teníamos una hermosa habitación con terraza privada. Gran barra. Amable servicio de recepción con buenas recomendaciones para restaurantes, etc. Sin duda me alojaría aquí de nuevo. Excelente ubicación central en un vecindario exclusivo.

El hotel en su conjunto necesita una renovación, especialmente las habitaciones. Teníamos una habitación superior pero eso no fue nada. ¡Escasamente amueblado y deteriorado y a un precio exorbitante! El desayuno tampoco es nada. Lo que beneficia al hotel es su ubicación muy céntrica, todo está a poca distancia. Pero en general no es una recomendación y no es representativo de un hotel Hilton.

Nuestra estancia en el Hotel Alexandra Barcelona fue de 5*, el personal nos hizo sentir como en familia, hermosas habitaciones y la ubicación perfecta para ir de compras, restaurantes y hacer turismo.

Buena ubicación. Servicio excepcional. Hasta ahora, el único problema es el olor que sale de las tuberías. No hemos informado de esto porque hemos estado fuera la mayor parte del día. Siente el reconocimiento como miembro Diamante. Definitivamente lo recomendaré a cualquiera.

En general, he disfrutado de mi estancia en Alexandra. El hotel estaba limpio, el personal era realmente amable y servicial. Las habitaciones parecían un poco anticuadas y sosas, sin embargo, tenían todos los elementos esenciales que esperaría de un Hilton y no escuché ningún ruido de los vecinos. Mi parte favorita fue el baño: era enorme y tenía mucho espacio para que dos personas se prepararan.

El hotel Alexandra Barcelona era un hotel decente que sentí que no estaba a la altura de los estándares de cuatro estrellas que he recibido en otros hoteles de Europa. El servicio estaba bien y la habitación era de tamaño medio por el precio. Los artículos de tocador parecían baratos.

La ubicación era buena, no excelente. Está lejos de todo el caos de La Rambla y se tarda unos 20 minutos en caminar hasta las zonas principales donde pasé la mayor parte del tiempo. Sin embargo, está a sólo 20 minutos a pie de la Sagrada Familia, lo cual disfruté. Y si buscas alojarte en una zona más tranquila, esta es una buena opción.

Me gustó el lujo de tener una piscina. El wifi no era confiable, se desconectaba constantemente y no tenía buena velocidad. En general, probablemente no me alojaría aquí de nuevo.

Este es un hotel muy bonito en una excelente ubicación en Barcelona. Si bien las habitaciones son un poco pequeñas según mi experiencia, el hotel es muy limpio y muy moderno, y también nos encantó el ambiente de la azotea. Sin embargo, lo que realmente hace que este lugar destaque es el fenomenal personal que trabaja aquí. Me gustaría felicitar a todos los presentes, incluido el personal de recepción y el equipo del bar. Mi única nota para una mejora constructiva sería que a la piscina le vendría bien un poco más de atención durante el día, ya que estuvo un poco sucia durante nuestra estancia. En definitiva, sin duda me alojaría aquí de nuevo.

Writing this early while still into my 3rd night. Wonderful location and extremely friendly staff. Shld be getting a 5 if not 6 stars. But for the following reasons it dropped to 3.and it's mainly because it so bloody noisy even on the 8th floor!
I can hear movement, people walking, furniture's moving all day. At night it happens occasionally. What the hell are the walls or floors made of? !? Extremely disappointed.
The other reason is for some strange reason, the hotel doesn't replace the bottle of water. Not a big deal as I have been going to the store to buy my own. But seriously, Hilton? It's a suite you knw. Why cant you even replace a bottle of water daily?
These two reasons are why it's a 3 stars. If it won't for the friendly staff in here, it will surely be my black list hotel. Do something abt it Hilton.

This hotel is in the best location for exploring the city. We walked to 90% of city attractions from and to our hotel. This hotel is at the top end of Las Ramblas, and there are lots of good restaurants and cafes near it. The area around it is busy yet safe, and Passeig de Gracia is half a block away for fine dining and luxury shopping. There are a few metro stations near here also. Our room was modern and spacious on the 8th floor facing Las Ramblas. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the room had all the amenities one could need including A/C controlled in the room. The staff was the best as they were friendly and helpful. The walls are paper thin and one can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the adjacent rooms and hallway. I had to bang on the walls a few times for people to be quiet after midnight. You can hear people like they are in your room the walls are so thin. Since it was low season, I don’t believe our floor was heavily populated, but I can imagine during high season, how noisy the floor can be and one can hear everything. The noise from the street was not an issue. The breakfast is good, but they serve the same things everyday, so guests with long stays, will get tired of the same food every single day fairly fast. The coffee machines as the absolute WORST and make the worst coffee we’ve ever had. The orange juice here is so watered down that it tastes like orange flavored water… really bad! The bread is also horrible here and the bread toaster is not the most efficient. Breakfast is served starting at 7: 30AM, so if you have business meetings at 8: 00 or early flight or early train, you will miss breakfast also. Unless you are Hilton Honors member and are at a level where you get free breakfast, breakfast will cost you €19.00 per person. We don’t recommend a stay here during summer when the hotel is busy. The noise from the other rooms will make it hard to rest and enjoy the stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Alexandra Barcelona Hotel. Close to the metro, restaurants, and shopping. Staff were friendly, warm, and always ready to help. While not all facilities, like the gym, were open at the time of our stay, they provided options if guests would need to use such facilities, although we didn't need it.

Solomillo restaurant is also worth a try. Aside from their steaks, we loved the mac and cheese and cheesecake.

My review of the hotel is mostly about the rooms and condition of hotel. I only stayed for one night but I thought the rooms were a bit small and dated and not what I would expect from a "boutique" hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, and hotel is in a great location.

Truly excellent location but the hotel is colorless and dark. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to find things in my suitcase during the day (superior king with pool view). Highly recommended for people who prefer grey, brown, and beige. However, we there in the winter so maybe it’s less gloomy in the heat of the summer.

The hotel is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the extraordinary service was the best part. The members appear to truly enjoy working there.

Hilton is just a little different in Barcelona.in a good way. The staff is awesome, the bar is incredible. What is different? Well you'll just have to visit to figure that out.

From the moment we arrived the staff were abrupt and uncooperative. The restaurant was closed, the pool area booked out to private function breakfast was served in a basement room that could only be described as resembling a funeral home. 3 couples walked out while during our stay and I wish we had too. A ruined holiday at 300 euro a night.

Exceptional hotel in a terrific location. It is easy to walk to many restaurants. The staff were terrific as they provided helpful recommendations. We enjoyed the room with the windows overlooking the street. We will be back!

The location is the best, close to Casa Mila, shops and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Will stay at this hotel again next time.

Great location. In the heart of the city and easy connecting to public transport. Facilities especially room need major refurbish to earn the rate they charge. Otherwise, with that quality, it doesn't make sense. Overall, it is a great hotel with great breakfast.

Hamburger spettacolare. A metà tra casa battlo e la Pedrera - Milà. Cameriere gentilissimo e disponibile. Non abbiamo usufruito del servizio hotel ma immagino sia impeccabile.

I stayed here for a week and was not disappointed, great and friendly staff. It feels like home and located in the most convenient intersection of the city.

I'm a little late posting the review - so forgive me! We stayed for two nights in February of 2022. Upon our arrival, our host, Bruno, welcomed us and made sure we had everything - and more - that we needed. We needed some assistance with the room and he was THERE in moments. He offered suggestions on sightseeing. Also, hidden away in the hotel is a little courtyard that we fully enjoyed with a bit of wine after a long day of travel. Esther, also at the front desk was also very helpful, giving us suggestions and getting us a taxi. The hotel breakfast was spectacular - very high quality and everything you'd want (hot foods, baked goods, coffee and tea). We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, great service, pretty good value for cost.
Very clean, and comfortable beds. I wish the Airconditioning were a bit stronger, especially in 35+degree weather, but it was good enough that it didn't take anything away from our visit.

The pool and pool area was really nice too.

A perfect, unobtrusive, and comfortable hotel. Conventionally located within walking distance of many central tourist sites, yet very quiet in daytime and through the night. Friendly, courteous, speedy and professional staff. Spotlessly clean room with perfect bed. Great AC. Yummy breakfast buffet.

This is a very strange place. There is an odd guy who stands in the lobby wearing an all black suit with a white shirt and all black sunglasses that stares at you for long periods of time. He does nothing else…. Did not help with bags, did not help with taxis, just stood there being odd. The front desk staff were all about 21 years old. They had little to no idea what they were doing. Room was not ready on time and was very late. Once we got our room, it was extremely small and there was no storage, no drawers, no closet. The floors in the room were dirty and we had to wear shoes if our feet were going to touch the floor. The only redeeming part of this hotel was that the ac in the room was good. The elevators rarely worked and being on the 5th floor was a pain in the ass…. Breakfast was garbage and the service was worse.

As a diamond member for 13 years, I definitely won’t stay here again.

Really bad experience. All I wanted is a calm room, in the last floor. When I arrive, the girl at the reception says I'm at the second floor. I ask if it's possible to change. She says the hotel is fully booked (I later checked on the website and it was not true) My room which was supposed to have a pool view was super noisy, the window overlooked the restaurant of the hotel. I could only see the roof of the arbor at the pool. VERY DISAPOINTING.
The room look really old and not fresh. There was mould in my bathroom. I don't recommend to stay in the hotel, the staff at the reception was not helpful at all.

The Alexandria is beautifully appointed and in a wonderful location. The staff are superb, true service stars, friendly and professional! Our encounters at check in, the bar and breakfast exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to returning!

Lugar agradable. No son flexibles con el desayuno, si quiere tomar solo un café y una tostada, no hay la opción contemplada, hay que pagar todo el buffett. La chica encargada del desayuno, me lo facilitó muy amablemente, pero de forma excepcional. Actualmente es algo que se ofrece en otras cadenas hoteleras.

Muy mala experiencia. Habitaciones en mal estado. Piscina fría en verano, fiestas/cenas en la terraza de la piscina hasta tarde que te impiden dormir. En recepción no te ayudan para nada. Estoy muy decepcionado. Un punto positivo el desayuno. Pero pagar un hilton para esto no.

Beautiful hotel, room, location! Pleasant and helpful staff. Loved the Nespresso machine in my room and the tub on the balcony! Elevator is frighteningly tiny!

Hotel location was good, friendliness of staff was good but found hoytel noisy.not just street but could hear hair drying from neighbouring rooms (at 5.30 am)

We had an absolutely amazing stay this summer at the Alexandra. Excellent location and cozy well furnished rooms. The bathroom was incredible and I still dream about the shower there. All the staff were very helpful, particularly including the restaurant staff. I would practically fly back there for just the breakfast they served in the morning. The pan con tomate just doesn't taste the same in the US. It was a huge value as a diamond benefit.

We booked their suite with a rooftop terrace and an outdoor bathtub, what a great experience to have a coffee or sunbathe in the afternoon or admire stars or moon at night from the bathtub.
We stayed at this hotel two nights in the summer and looking forward to coming back next week. The only little negative comment would be about the pool that was a bit dirty.

The front desk staff are fabulous. They began assisting me even before I arrived. A really first class experience, outstanding location. I can heartily recommend this hotel.

Spent one night here and enjoyed my stay. The neighborhood is older so the renovation looks well done yet the place still has its own modern character. My room was spacious and clean. Staff was nice, helpful, and attentive

The buffet breakfast included with my diamond status was fantastic.

The reviews I find here are quite deceiving when it comes to the Alexandra Hotel. If you look carefully they are ALL suites which cost a ridiculous amount of money per night. I have just completed a 4 night stay which on average cost 225 EUR/night to stay in the Super Double with a Pool View. Here is my experience:

Negatives

– The bed is AWFUL. After 4 nights I am writing this with an aching back and a crick in my neck. The mattress you feel every movement from your partner, it’s hard and probably has been in the hotel for some time. The pillows are comparable to pancakes as they’re only fluffy until you touch them, a nights sleep and you wake up basically with your head on the mattress, or in my case with the pillow folded like origami to develop some level of support

– The bathroom is stylish yet inconvenient. The shower head is full of dirt meaning it just thumps the water out in any direction making it look more like a hose pipe than a useful shower head. The drain of the bath is also to the right of the bath tub making it near on impossible to stand comfortably underneath the shower

– Fresh Water in the room. Supplied only once and then a charge of 3.50 EUR per 33cl of water. My recommendation if you stay here is buy it in the supermarket next door.

– The rooms are poorly insulated. Meaning you heard every moan and groan, conversation, or slide of the curtains. We also had to sign a waiver that the room was non-smoking, but have to walk through a hallway of smoking rooms to reach it. Not a nice experience if you don’t like smoke.

- Condition of hotel/rooms. At first you think this is a trendy hotel with some minimalist features. Reality is its run down, and in need of some love. What slowly becomes apparent is that it has the Hilton mark all over it.cutting corners, cutting costs, losing its edge. Quite frankly it’s only a 4* because its renting the front terrace to a swanky restaurant, and has a big pool. Which doesn’t get any sun for more than 2 hours and is hidden amongst neighboring buildings.

Positives
– The location is BRILLIANT, you’re near the main shopping street, it’s easy to get everywhere from here.

– The breakfast isn’t bad, if its not included in your room its a hefty 18 EUR so I suggest booking with it. Though there are numerous cafes surrounding the area should you wish to spend closer to 8 EUR for the equivalent food.

In summary this is a glorified 3* hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying here as I think there are better choices for the money.

We stayed here before our cruise and decided to stay here after because of how much we liked it!
CLEANLINESS: I am super picky on cleanliness and both times it passed my test! Even without COVID (but now even more so WITH COVID) you want a room that is clean and sanitized. We felt very comfortable sleeping there knowing how clean it was. I was VERY IMPRESSED.
LOCATION: The location was fabulous! It's centrally located to everything we wanted to see. We walked to many of Gaudi's attractions, to the Gothic quarter, Las Ramblas, and the Boqueria. They were very close to the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stop too.
BATHROOMS: The bathrooms were roomy with a huge mirror and lots of space to put all our toiletries. We loved the shower with the rain shower head, multiple shower heads and large shower area.
BEDS: The beds were super comfortable and sheets super soft. Down pillows too! (Did not find one hair on the sheets! Again, I am super picky about cleanliness) We slept so good!
STAFF: They spoke English and were very welcoming and informative. They explained breakfast times, internet access, which elevator to take to our room, how to get to sightseeing attractions, warned us about pick-pocketers and always offered to hail us a cab or help us with our luggage. They went above and beyond making us feel like VIPs.
BREAKFAST: They offered breakfast (we were Hilton Gold members so we got it included) which included an assortment of fresh pastries, cereals, dried fruits and nuts, toaster & bread, fresh fruit juices, Nespresso machine, brewed coffee & assortment of teas (they also had warmed milk for your coffee! LOVED that!), fresh fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, fried eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, cooked peppers (a regional specialty) and cooked vegetables. The dining area was kept clean, had great music and plenty of seating. We left there full and very satisfied:)
ROOM LOCATION & VIEWS: The first leg of our journey here we had a standard room with a lovely view of their garden terrace. It was very quiet and it had a window that we opened for fresh air. Our second leg we had a suite. It had rooftop views, a walk-out terrace with a large soaking tub, table and chairs, a lounge chair and lots of beautiful, potted plants. It was street side but we didn't experience any noise issues whatsoever. It was an incredible experience taking a bath on the terrace at night. An experience I will never forget!
OVERALL: I will absolutely return here again when in Barcelona. For the price and all the amenities it offered, I feel that we were blessed to have found such a special find!
