Marta makes the classes fun and personal, she is very knowledgeable and explained the grammar points well. It never actually feels like hard work, and I really learned a lot quickly! Would definitely recommend!

I’m so glad I chose Cactus to start my Spanish learning journey. From total beginner who could barely say “Hola! ”, after a few short months I was able to converse with more ease with locals in the town where I live in Spain. I enjoyed the private classes with Marta. The topics were varied and questions were asked which required the use of different verb tenses. There were some minor issues with the internet quality but overall, a good learning experience. I will enrol for more classes.

The school is really good, especially for those who would like to enhance their Spanish knowledge. I want to compliment Marta, who is currently my teacher. She is an amazing teacher who makes the lessons very interesting and explains well the grammar. I was before in another school from Barcelona and I can say honestly that the teaching quality including implemented tools and materials are here way much better than in other school. I really like the friendly and in the same time personal approach of our teacher Irene as we are a beginner group and it is crucial to keep us motivated but also keep up with well balanced material for each class. She is very kind and understanding and makes learning a language really fun!

I am living in Spain since 2015, only did one basic course at the very beginning but while mostly surrounded by other expats, I kinda missed the opportunity to actually learn proper Spanish by practising it regularly. So I booked this starter class at Cactus Barcelona when I had a week of holidays and just one morning hour per day already helped me a lot to refresh my memory and add some new knowledge. Sheila is a great teacher, very patient and fun, her way of talking is wonderful to listen to and it is a good challenge that she never switches to English but tries to explain everything in Spanish instead. I can highly recommend this language school, it is very easy to sign up and the classes are done online (without any technical issues, I might add). Thank you so much, I will register for the next round once I can coordinate it with my work schedule!

Hi everyone! As a language student, I've been gathering all sorts of experiences across different schools. What I've learned is that a led empathy, professional commitment, and shared cultural values won't just create a strong tie within the group, it will also allow your learning experience to boost your language skills. On a personal level, I think it's always a good idea to do something productive such as learning a new language (whether if you want to start from scratch or improve your skills). I know personally one of the school founders, and I can honestly say they will do their best to help you fit in, understand your concerns, and give you a hand in anything both course or life-related (for instance, if you've just shortly landed in Barcelona). Bearing in mind the increasingly Covid19 changing circumstances, Cactus has kept on building up great courses. By facing a difficult yet necessary transition from physical to online learning (whether if you are located in town or abroad), offering lively, well-taught interactive lessons addressing different needs and goals according to levels.

I love going to Cactus! Marta is a really experienced, communicative teacher with a lot of patience, and she always uses engaging content that I feel is matched to the group’s interests. There is a lot of speaking practice, but the teachers try really hard to accommodate your specific needs too (like if you want to focus on written Spanish, they will give you extra activities and are always there to help). If you’re searching for a Spanish school, Cactus BCN is amazing. They’ll especially help you to improve confidence and fluency when speaking. Plus they are a small business run by people who are passionate about what they do and who really want to be there, so it feels good to support their school!

Marta is an excellent teacher. She is very kind and professional. She is also easy going and a lot of fun. Marta has the ability to meet a student where they are at. She is encouraging and patient. Marta explains grammar in a way that doesn't feel overhwelming or complicated. I have lived in Barcelona for almost 3 years.
I studied in several schools but still was
searching for the best one for my needs.
So I finally found the CactusBcn school which I highly recommend for their professionalism.
What I appreciate the most is that along with teaching grammar they put a high emphasis on speaking. Special thanks to Marta for her excellent teaching skills and helping me get better and comfortable in speaking the language. I'm looking forward to continue the classes as soon as I'll be able to attend.

I have been a student at Cactus BCN since February of 2019. I was initially in group classes with both Marta and Clara. These classes were small and customized to the level of the students. They used a mix of fun exercises and games to teach grammar and vocabulary. During our conversation classes, we engaged in topical subjects as well as learning about local culture.

Later, I switched to individual classes with Marta and for a time with Veronica. They are both excellent teachers. In addition to speaking and listening in the one on one setting, I found that homework exercises and writing assignments were very helpful for my learning process.

Now with the pandemic in full swing, I have transitioned to online classes with Marta. There is no discernible difference between my online classes and my in person classes. I am quite happy that Cactus BCN is now online as I will be able to continue to study with Marta when I return to the U. S. I highly recommend this school for students looking to learn to speak Spanish.

The cactusBcn is the best thing that happened to me to learn spanish, private lessons and also group lessons are always fun and i learn a lot! I can recommend it with all my heart, the teachers are super friendly and the learning atmosphere is motivating!

I've been in Barcelona for 2 years already and a friend recommended CactusBcn to me. I could start right away in a medium level class and even though they had already started a while ago I got the whole PDF to catch up on the grammar and could join them without any problems. The teacher Marta is super "buena onda") She has a good attitude and makes sure everybody in the class gets his turn to speak. In only 2 weeks I already made a really nice progress, I'll continue with the classes for sure. Thumbs up!

CactusBcn is a small but very professional language school. I started with the evening classes a couple of months ago and they did a great job with adjusting to the current situation. From a cozy classroom to a suitable online solution for all of us. The groups are not too big, which gives you the opportunity to speak and learn the new language at your own pace. I highly recommend this school when you are looking for something personal, non-commercial and fun.

I am so so lucky that I found this language school in September. I started from beginner level and now I’m at the beginning of B1, thanks to Marta. Very good price, but also very good teachers, I enjoyed all the classes. Furthermore I find it amazing that the classes are small, and because of this you have the chance to talk a lot. I took the 4 day promotion classes and they were great! I learnt more in 4 days then I had in 4 months living in Barcelona, Veronica is so lovely and makes great tea!
I'll definitely enroll for one of the longer courses in the future.

I attended classes at Cactus for 7 weeks between the end of January, through February into March of 2020. For me it was an excellent fit. The class was very small 4 to 6 students. For me the fact that my class had mature students was a plus. As expected new grammar was continually introduced and daily discussions were designed to put it into practice. The topics of discussion offered contemporary expressions with a broad range of vocabulary being used in daily life in Barcelona in particular and more widely in Spain. The atmosphere was relaxed yet charged with the expectation to participate in discussions. I feel that I learned a great deal. I recommend it strongly. Excellent faculty, Well organized. Marta was my teacher and she was professional, prepared and efficient.

I studied Spanish at Cactus twice per week for a whole year, while I did an MBA in Barcelona. It was a great experience as the classes were a perfect combination of speaking, writing, listening and grammar. I enjoyed it every time!

Barcelona has many Spanish language schools to choose from and sometimes it's difficult to choose from a barrage of institutions. I've had my fair share of Spanish school throughout. I really enjoy Cactus BCN's small group (max 8 people) which invite a very intimate setting for new language learners.

I've been in other Spanish schools where they have 20+ students in a classroom and in that setting you have 1 student monopolizing the class, leaving everyone else just listening rather than participating; but not at Cactus BCN, they really encourage speaking/communicating the materials you learn in class. The idea of "applying what you learn" is emphasized at Cactus BCN through the use of flashcards and creative story telling and in doing so, the materials taught are more concrete in the mind.

The profesoras make it a fun environment to learn and they want to help you improve in the language. They're attentive to student's needs, rather than run the course. If the students in the class are still unclear of the topic being taught, then they spend time so everyone understands before moving forward - which is essential in learning any language. ¡Muchas gracias!

I have been studying there for about 7 months and I could not be happier! Classes go by quickly because of the engaging teachers and fun activities. The learning process is based on talking and communication which is why it is never boring and unlike any other school. Small groups of people guarantee a chance for everyone to participate, ask questions and speak. A lot of gamification (cards, acting, story telling.) and the best teachers who genuinely care and want to see you learn. School itself is located in the centre of the city and has a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Cactus is an amazing language school! The teachers are really nice and give personal attention, the classes are small, the location really central. I learned Spanish in a fun and interactive way, adjusted to the interests of the students. Thank you for the amazing time!

I applied the class through Meetup last week, and I went to the class today. But, they said, the class is already full. They asked me to attend next class. Cactus is pretty far from my house, and I took 40min train to go there. I was so so disappointed about their attitude. And the class room is very narrow and small.

I’ve been attending a beginners’ class since September and I am really happy for my choice! The school focuses on speaking and until now courses went by really fast. Marta and Veronica are both really great teachers! I recommend Cactus without a second thought!

Fabulous language school. As others have noted, there is a lot of emphasis on speaking, and even a beginner class like mine often seems to just follow the flow of conversation-the teacher is very good at weaving her plan for teaching grammar, etc, into a natural, comfortable format. The space is also lovely. I don't really have time to be taking a class, but it is too good to pass up.

I've been studying Spanish at Cactus for 3 months now and will continue to do so! I have been taking group lessons and have never had any more than 8 people in a class, most of the time there has been 5 of us. I've had Marina, Veronica & Marta as teachers, all have been engaging & enthusiastic! My favourite part about the school is that the lessons fit around my job and when I work away/ travel, I can still come back to the same group and only pay for the lessons I attend.

CactusBCN is brilliant. I’ve studied at other Spanish schools in Barcelona, Latin America, and the U. S, and Cactus is at the top. The classes are small—on most days there are only five or so of us (although the cap is theoretically ten). Verónica and Marta, the teacher-owners, do a great job of knowing our needs and tailoring our classes accordingly. We spend most of our time on conversation, with a healthy amount of correction, which is perfect for my intermediate level. There’s also a well-thought-out mix of games, exercises, short videos, and readings that keep things interesting. The school seems to attract a lot of longer-term students, people living in Barcelona for a year or more, which makes for a bit more devotion to learning and a nicely supportive environment that has led to some lovely out-of-class friendships. It's also great that because Verónica and Marta are the owners, all the profits go to them, as opposed to the situation at other schools where the owners sometimes pay teachers poorly. I can’t recommend Cactus BCN too strongly.

Good Spanish school with a focus on talking. Course sizes are perfect with around 6 people. The teachers are motivated and know what they are talking about. I also liked the environment - very personal and comfortable.
Course speed is adapted to the performance of the course and therefore, varies.

I went there twice, once for a course and the other time for private lessons and I enjoyed both, even though I preferred private since it was perfectly adapted to my level.

The school itself is a good one, the teaching method is very effective for adults, slow enough and fun, only one sheet of homework from occasion to occasion. Nice environment, a bit loud air-conditioning. The 4 (or even less) stars is for the very rigid payment conditions and the waiting time for courses. I paid my second (third) one-month course full in advance 3 weeks earlier but I had to move home unexpectedly due to unforeseen reasons just 3 days before it has begun. The school did not offer any return payment or options (if you find replacement or delayed start of the course). It is in their conditions so nothing to complain about, but watch out and do not pay very much in advance if there any chance you might not start the course. Otherwise, recommended.

I would like to share my experience with this language school. I had 20 private classes with teachers Verónica and Marta. Both of them were great, always prepared, classes were interesting, educative and just perfect! Thanks to them I really enjoyed learning Spanish. If I come back to Barcelona I will attend this school for sure!:) Thank you!

I've been attending morning classes at CactusBcn for about a month now and I can't recommend it enough. Lessons are competitively priced, in a central location and the teachers are incredibly welcoming and supportive. There's a big focus on speaking and practising what you learn there and then. According to my small research it's the best–rated language school in Barcelona. And I have to say this school is really good! Lectures with Marta are very interesting. It's totally different experience that I remember from the public school. Highly recommended:)

If you are looking for a school that offers learning in a small groups with native speakers and relaxed atmosphere then CactusBcn is a place for you. I’ve been going there for two months now and I really enjoy learning from Clara because she has been nothing but patient and always with a smile on her face:)
Also, you don’t have to buy additional books or go through placement tests or any other complications - they really make everything as easy and relaxed as possible!

I had such a great time here. The classes are small relaxed and the teacher Marina made us feel so comfortable. Every class was a lot of fun and there was a lot of laughing which was unexpected but made it even better!

I found this school because I was searching for one in that neighbourhood. I was very happy there. The teachers are motivated and it was a pleasure learning Spanish with them.
Groups are small, usually up to 8 people and that’s great because you can still do group/pair work but its not too much so the teacher can jump in easily to help or correct you. They offer different levels at different times of the day. The best thing is to check their website or contact them directly to discuss your options.

My husband and I both attend Cactus. We highly recommend the school. We have attended both group and private lessons and have found teachers to be professional, passionate and accomodating. The school is well located, very central. Prices are reasonable compared to other schools too. Options for every level of Spanish.

I’ve been studying Spanish with Marta at Cactus for three months now. It’s a really amazing experience of studying a new language. The reason I chose Cactus because they have small class for each level. Teachers can take care of each students. I feel a lot of different between other language schools. In the class the activities are interesting, and teacher is full of patient and passionate. I improved a lot about my grammar and vocabularies. Excellent place to get started and carry on! Reasons are: there isn’t a coarse contract and is a month to month payment. Therefore if you have to leave on holiday and come back it’s great or if you feel you good same. You don’t have to buy extra books and the price is the best out of any school. Stop researching and apply. I’ve done all the research and this school is perfect! It’s central, right next to Liceu metro station so you can get there from anywhere!
Teachers are soooo friendly and extremely patient. You can find a smile on their faces every day!
The coarse and learning experience is amazing. In 1 month I can serve customers and speak basic Spanish to my customers at my bar.

Spent 1 month studying with Marta at Cactus BCN - enjoyed her teaching style and the structure of the lessons! I feel like I progressed quite a bit in that month and feel much more confident going forward taking the next steps in studying and practicing speaking Spanish.
Classes are encouraging and move quickly. Homework is given after each class as well.

I've tried a few different language schools in Barcelona and this one was by far my favourite! The classes are small and very tailored to individuals and groups. Classes don't depend on following a text book so exercises are fun and engaging.

These ladies are the best! You can tell they truly enjoy what they are doing, have great energy and are always looking for ways to personalize a program that works for you. I have taken private and group lessons and have found both formats to be really great. I couldn't recommend them more.

The Cactus school is just a perfect place to learn spanish. Place itself is very cozy, bright and located in the very center of BCN.
