La nota baja va por la opacidad en el enfoque: en las mesas de fuera simplemente no te dan la carta, ni precios así que el truco está hecho. Si dejas que traigan las sugerencias empiezas a acumular gasto sin saber muy bien cómo acabará. Eso sin entrar en unos platos minúsculos a precios muy altos. Sinceramente por ese precio opinamos que no vale la pena. Te quedas con hambre por 40 o 50€ por persona. Sinceramente muchas ínfulas para lo que ofrecen. Para guiris incautos supongo que está ok pero para los de aquí 2 estrellas.

Molt bon menjar, tot i que caret. A més no tenen carta, no saps els preus fins que t'arriba el compte. Això no em sembla correcte, els preus s'haurien de saber a priori.

Si tu quieres comer aquí, tú necesitas estar allí 20 minutos antes de que el restaurante abra. Entonces necesitas 20 minutos en la fila. Pero vale la pena. Si cuando estás con dos personas te puedes sentar en el bar, en la barra. Y puedes ver que cocinan bien la comida. Y los meseros son muy divertidos porque hacen bromas. No puedes elegir lo que tu quieres comer, pero puedes indicar cuál comida no te gusta. Es un buen concepto.

La segunda vez que vengo a almorzar (la primera fue hace 7 años) y estoy muy feliz de verlo y probarlo, es tan bueno como lo recordaba. Todos nuestros platos eran mariscos y todos fueron fantásticos. Terminado con una excelente tarta de queso y tarta de chocolate de postre. Los comentarios dicen que es caro, pero dada la cantidad de comida que comimos (excelente pan con tomate + 4 platos grandes de marisco de alta calidad + 2 postres deliciosos) y el vino que fluía libremente, 60 euros por persona fue una muy buena relación calidad-precio en mi opinión, considerando la calidad y excelente servicio.

Fui a Cal Pep sin saber de su fama. Fue una de las colas más largas en las que he estado: más de una hora para la cena del jueves por la noche. Tuve la tentación de irme, pero me alegro de haberme quedado. No hay menús predefinidos. Sólo la pesca del día. La comida es sencilla pero sabrosa. El ambiente es parte de la experiencia, ya que puedes sentarte en el bar y ver a los chefs trabajar justo frente a ti. Los camareros son simpáticos y alegres. Si quieres, puedes pedirles que elijan los platos por ti. El resultado es bueno.

Mi amiga me recomendó este lugar como su restaurante número uno en Barcelona y ¡no me decepcionó!

Se llena mucho, por lo que vale la pena saber que puede haber una espera cuando llegue, pero el personal es muy atento y bueno para entregar las cubiertas.

Lo que más me gustó fueron las almejas, las gambas de la escuela también estaban buenísimas.

Buena comida pero se había ido mucho y no pensé que valía la pena el dinero, hay muchos otros restaurantes de tapas sabrosas por menos

No hay menú en el restaurante. Los servidores ofrecerán 2 opciones para recomendar algunos artículos de la disponibilidad de alimentos de ese día o nombrarle la lista de artículos disponibles para que elija.

Unbelievable experience! Food is more then great. And big octopus was really a perl of our dinner.
Yes, prices may seem a bit higher than in all other “tapas restaurants” but this proved but wonderful quality of your dishes.

Tourist trap, they purchase a cheapest ingredients fry it and offer to clients as a real Spanish food. Sangria made with outdated fruits.we eat here few ears ago and had better memories. Will not come again.

It is a very homy place with only 8 tables. The camareros are very friendly, welcoming and attending. The ingredientes are top quality and generous. We ordered lobster rice that ranks the best ones I've had out there. The mushroom scrambled eggs with shrimp is a miraculous mixture of rich flavor that you can't experience if not for the fine and top clasa raw materials. No wonder it ranked 30th restaurants around the world. Loved the food and the service. Highly recommend!

I wasn't a fan. Very cramped Diner counter style seating with high prices. Everything was SO salty and waitstaff was unfriendly.

Definitely not worth a visit! I think there is a lot of hype about this place not sure why but just the service was an experience enough for me to not feel comfortable here!
A friend of ours recommended this place to us to go and try their crema catalana. We went there one evening, and the waiter that ‘’welcomed’’ us, was not friendly at all and when we wanted to take a table he asked arrogantly if we have a reservation. We said no but were confused because there were a lot of free tables without the ‘’reserved’’ sign. He said we cannot sit there without a reservation but luckily another waiter came and said its fine if we take the table. We took a table, he brought us menus - and then when we wanted to order crema catalanas and some drinks - he was so surprised and changed his attitude more to the rude side already by telling us that we cannot order desserts without ordering a main dish. We didn’t want to order a main dish as we already had dinner somewhere else and really wanted to try their crema catalana. We told the waiter that our friend recommended this place and we’re tourists so we really, really want to try it! But he said no, no way and they cannot serve desserts without main dish as they would rather have other customers coming in who are about to order main dishes and spend more money than we do obviously. I would have maybe understood this if the restaurant would be full and we would take the last free tables, but the restaurant was like 60% free. We had to leave the place and next time we are in Barcelona - we will make sure NOT to visit the place!
I think it all comes down to being a customer oriented business and not always think about short-term revenues, because this time we might have only ordered desserts but we would come back for a dinner some other day. Anyways this is just my honest opinion!

Great food even the restaurant is in the touristic area. Enjoy the suggestions by the staff, you won't regret it. There might be 20 min waiting time if you come by 9 before getting seated

Place was busy but after a brief wait we were seated at the counter. Vermouth was paired well with artichokes and tomato bread. Spinach with chickpeas, monkfish and sausage were very good and were chased with a verbena. Highly recommended.

Un espectáculo para los sentidos. Comer en la barra es toda una experiencia. Producto de calidad, muy bien trabajados, servicio de 10, precios relativamente moderados (si te animas con vino y varios platos a probar, te puede subir la cuenta) y unos postres que hay que probar si o si.

Un lloc excepcional. Cuina de tapes i plats per compartir de gran qualitat. Destaco el peix fresc i de proximitat. Entre els meus plats favorits destaco la Truita trempera, senzilla i boníssima. També la butifarra farcida de foie…senzillament boníssima!
El servei esta a l’altura del restaurant, proper i professional.

Sin duda el mejor lugar para comer en Barcelona.
El lugar es muy lindo, la atención de todos es excelente en todo momento y mención especial a José, que con solo preguntar si algo no nos gustaba nos hizo la recomendación para una degustación típica de la región y acertó en todo. Cada platillo era mejor que el anterior!

Amazing food experience! We came here on multiple recommendations and almost turned away when we saw the line outside, but it moves very quickly and we were sat down without a reservation within 20 minutes. Try and get a seat at the bar if you can! The food here is incredible, so fresh and excellent flavours. We told our waiter that we would try his best recommendations and we were served the clams, steak tartare, artichoke, tomato bread and Spanish omelette and everything was incredible! Best Spanish omelette we have ever tried, you must order this! The atmosphere is great, the sangria is excellent and the food is on another level!

The place is beautiful and the waiters are super nice but the food was not as good as expected. Veryyy salty to my taste. Also, being in the back room means higher price ahah

Es un lugar si plendonde poder tomar algo i picotear! El servicio fue un poco lento, considerando que no había mucha gente y eran las seis de la tarde.

To start, the food was solid. That being said, we've certainly had better in Barcelona thus far for a fraction of the cost and better ambience. We were told there was no menu and the waiter advised us on what to get. The food was far more expensive than anything else we have had in the city and not worth the cost at all. I left feeling a bit ripped off.

Good food, good service but felt ripped off at the end.

We ordered 4 plates of tapas (the staff decides what they will serve based on your wishes) and got as a last plate one that costed 24 euro, as much as the first three combined.

Super touristy spot where you pay upwards of 16€ per tapa! There's no menu so you don't see the prices before either. Would have been three stars but I had asked them if they had octopus and they said no, just calamari, then I saw them bring an octopus plate to another guest. Food was only mediocre, definitely not worth the price tag.

The most fun staff, excellent food, and wonderful environment. We ate at multiple tapas restaurants recommended by hotels and friends and this one was by the best. The chefs and the waiters were so nice and funny. We had some top notch food for a wonderfully priced meal. Of the 25+ curated by “expert” places we tried in Barcelona, this is the tapas one we would recommend for tapas on a weekend night.

Party of 4 for a lunchtime treat. We were recommended 8 tapas for 4 people. Everything came out (we did not pick) and it was all great. Good wine, good service, pleasant atmosphere. While I can understand people might not like to blindly sit there and have no choices or menu, I have to say it was a unique and pleasant experience. I would recommend. We had two bottles of wine, water, 8 tapas plates, dessert and coffees and our total was not bad. By the way, the desserts are great! Take the risk, you will not be disappointed.

Nos fuimos muy descontentos de este establecimiento. El camarero nos hizo el menú sin dejarnos escoger ninguno de los platos, a pesar de que le pedimos la carta varias veces. Nos iba a ofrecer pescado, pero al ver que veníamos de un sitio de mar se retractó, dando a entender que no era muy bueno. Cada plato que nos dio era de muy poca cantidad. Pagamos cerca de 50 siendo sólo dos y, por supuesto, quedamos con hambre.

P. D: el ticket nos lo enseñó de pasada y se lo llevó enseguida sin llegar a dárnoslo.

Been trying to get a place here for a while. Did not disappoint. Just say what you can’t eat and the waiters serve up a storm. Get in early!

No menu so you might be surprised when you receive the bill. Food is good.tasteful. But the service is too quick and in 1hour, after 6 tapas we received a bill of 85 euros.too expensive. They overcharge some food.

Friendly, overpriced. Compared to other tapas experiences in Barca, inferior and about twice as expensive. 4 tapas, 3 drinks, 88 euros. Calamari plate big, but chewy, bland. Clams and fish, good. Tuna, okay.

The best meal we had in Barcelona! No menus or tables. Small, very bright, counter seating. Tell your server what you like, point to interesting dishes you see others having. Be prepared for a gastronomic delight!

Sitting at the bar and having plates come one after the next, one tastier than the next, is difficult to top. No frills place and definitely worth it.

Everything was wonderful but price are really expensive. If you go to 2 person and eat 4 things and drink cavas have to pay more than 70€.

Seriously, where do I begin at how much I love this tapas bar? Amazing. I was dining alone and as always best places to eat alone are always in Spain, at the bar by yourself. The staff took beyond great care of me, saying to me, let us put together food that you will love and of course beautiful Spanish wine to match. Seriously. Do yourself a favour and get yourself here to this amazing Barcelona institution. My fav.

La comida es excelente! Primera calidad. Muy bien ejecutada. Se come solo lo que hay ese dia. No le puse 5 estrellas por el precio. Un poco caro. Pero lo malo es no saber los precios. Allí no hay menú. Y los mozos tampoco saben los precios. Se pide.y luego se paga lo que ellos quieran. El salon es muy chico hay solo 5 mesas para 4 o 6 personas.imposible el salon sin reserva previa. En ese caso esperar lugar en la Barra.sugiero llamar antes para saber si hay mucha gente esperando.

Buena comida, camareros super amables, ambiente distendido, precio algo caro aunque puede compensar la buena calidad del producto

Everything was delicious. Trust the waiter to order for you. Best food I ate in Barcelona. If you come as a group of four you can get a table, otherwise you will have to wait for a place at the bar which is great since you get to chat with the staff.

Un robo! Típico ejemplo de como el dinero prima sobre cualquier cosa y todo se hace para el turismo aquí en Barcelona: Dos cañas una tapa de tortilla y una de almejas 40€! Solo para guiris!

Pricey for what you get. Having said that, what they chose was extremely good. The beef i had was the tenderest i have had in a long time.

Of all the places we had tapas this was the most expensive and we got the least amount too. Its true that they dont have a menu and therefore you do not know the cost of their tapas which honestly can be super expensive. There are other locations for fresh, tasty and affordable tapas. Some tapas were good but obviously its catering to a certain crowd type. Youre paying for ac and its old/modernist decor.

If you are looking for high-end tapas, this is the place in Barcelona. Amazing tapas, and fabulous staff. Try to get a table in the back room. It is simply wonderfull.
