Really good and authentic South Indian food. Dosas were exactly like how you get it back in india 5/5. Chicken 65 was ok. We also had filter coffee which was good but found it to be a bit expensive… 3€ is quite a bit we feel. Will be going back for sure.
Very Bad Behavior on the part of the manager, on a rainy day, our group of friends was visiting, half of us reached earlier and ordered for everybody being considerate of the kitchen closing timings, 20 mins later our second half group reached and they were not served their order which was placed by us 20 mins prior to their arrival and two dishes from that order were ready on the table of the first group that arrived, and still the manager had issues with us eating those 2 plates in order to not waste the food. The prices anyways are way higher for the quality of the food. Not even close to the REAL AUTHENTIC SOUTH INDIAN TASTE. The serving staff was friendly and excellent. But the manager needs a major upgrade to his social skills and attitude towards the customers. If there was an option to post with zero stars or give a negative rating (-5/10), I would chose that now.
I was very happy to find a South Indian restaurant in Barcelona. There service and foods are excellent! Will definitely return back with my friends - thanks Mr.kumar (the owner) was very friendly enough to give me suggestions about Barcelona.
It has been a while since we had a good Indian! We had the Chicken Thali and the lamb Dosa. Both really good and very reasonably priced too! Will come back!
Famous for being unprofessional and unethical. I have visited the restaurant many times before and the last time we had a really bad experience and were turned down food by the owner. Never going here again. Firstly, to be honest the food taste isn't that great. It's just that people like the idea of having South Indian food there as not many competitors in Barcelona. Secondly, the pricing doesn't match the quality. We had ordered various kinds of dosas and desserts but everything turned out to be disappointing.
The food is authenticlly amazing and ive been there many many time and would love to keep going. My experience last time however left a bad taste in my mind when we were ordering desserts and I asked the owner if the gulab jamun will be hot and she snapped back at me that "we will just put it in the microwave and give it to you". I did not like the attitude in which i was answered and found it quite rude. I love gulab jamun and so i love it when its presented in the traditional way i.e. It is hot and not cold. Many restos in Barcelona give it cold and that is bit of a disappointment which is the reason i asked.
To start with finding a proper place where we can get authentic South Indian food is amazing. But after being there twice I can absolutely say it was an awesome experience. Truly mouth watering dishes like the dosas and vadas that we had were even better than what we used to have in India. The prices are affordable and the hospitality is too good. We being vegetarians requested special changes and they were taken care of really well. The staff and the owner are down to earth and very helping. Full marks! Plz go and try if you are craving for a good meal.
Update (Oct 2021) : returned to this place after 2 years, and found that it's not that authentic anymore. I suppose they've had to cater more to a heterogeneous audience but I wouldn't call it an "authentic" restaurant.
Delighted with the authentic Thali. Needs reservations ahead.
The best experience for South Indian food in Barcelona. We did a lot of EU food and then wanted something South Indian, we choose this and it was excellent. We loved the taste, the thali and idli sambar.
Service: the male tamil server was good. But the tamil lady at the billing counter pretend as of she can't even see you if you are tamil looking. She treats you as if she is disgusted by your presence. You will see mix of reviews about service. That is because, this lady treats you well if you are white or posh looking Indian. If you are tamil, expect poor service.
I visited this place 3 times and all 3 times I noticed this treatment.
Unfortunately we don't have any other proper tamil restaurants in Barcelona.
Food was very tasty! we had to wait for close to 30mins as we didn't find a table. We tried meals and dosa.both were amazing! If the white rice was made with sona masuri rice instead of basmati, it would have been in next level!
This restaurant is a must try and better than any South Indian place I've tried across countries. If you like it spicy, try anything with podi masala (podi idli is my personal favourite). Don't forget the mango lassi on the side!
Good food. The portions are large, so don't worry even if you see a 7€ dosa. The dosa would be twice the size of a regular one in India. I tried Medu Vada as well. Weren't as soft as I'd like. The coconut chutney has a long way to improve. But 4 stars- this is the only South Indian place in the city.
Great authentic food. The service is exceptional and prices are reasonable. The Thali was good combination of many varieties and we couldn't complete eating the whole plate as abundant of food portions
Authentic and genuine street food Southern Indian cuisine. Rapid and nice staff, good service, one of the best and unique places in Barcelona where you can have the original idlys, dosas and uttapams. Highly recommendable.
Authentic south Indian chettinadu taste. Foods are very tasty and yummy. Especially BIRIYANI is excellent. Service and staffs are very good. I give five star rating.
We really enjoyed our meal tonight AND we had a waitress that was patient with us and helped us with the menu - she was kind and didn't make us feel stupid. Great meal
Excelente lugar 100% recomendado.
Love the food and some of the staff! They explain the tradition, the concept of th food in great detail. The ambience could be a bit better and cleaner.
Real authentic chettinad taste and we as family enjoyed the food lot after a long time. This is one of the best and real authentic chettinad taste which I have ever had in different South Indian restaurants.
Impressionant restaurant indú. Hem anat per curiositat i provar coses noves i hem sortit encantats. Qualitat a bon preu.
Excellent authentic South Indian vegetarian food. This is an amazing thing for us when we were in Barcelona. Priced well. We did not like the Thalis (perhaps, meat options are good? I'd never know) but everything else was awesome.
We can't compare to the indian food available in India but good place if you are craving for south indian food in foreign land. We ate two menu, one with chicken and one with the prawn, Rice is good.variety of southindian breakfast options like idly, dosa are available.staff are friendly.definately would recommend
We were there when we visited Barcelona for 3 days. I should say I was disappointed to find this restaurant only on the LAST day before leaving! Else would have gone eaten there twice everyday. Food here tastes authentic. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants across Europe, but hands down. This is the best of them all where you can get all south Indian dishes from crispy dosas to thali to idly-vada! They serve a Guess what! They even serve authentic Indian tea (Chai) and filter Coffee (Yeah, I know! FILTER Coffee). Staff is very friendly. Restaurant is busy most of the times (obviously due to their tasty food), so booking in advance is recommended. I repeat. This is where I ate best dosas in Europe! If you know what south Indian food tastes like, just walk-in here. Rest they will take care
A must go for someone how really wanna have some good vegetarian. We ordered three types of dosa the best one was the ghee masala dosa for me. It was served with aloo masala topped with the delicious ghee, sambhar and two Chutney. The other two dosas were very different but equal good. The ambiance was cosy with bollywood songs playing on screen. In drinks we ordered an amazing mango lassi. To end, I will say that the satff was good and we meet the owner and he was really friendly.its worth the 5 star.
