Miguel fue un excelente guía para la caminata Alt Pirineu en los Pirineos de Cataluña. Conocía la historia y la geografía del área y nos llevó a realizar algunas caminatas increíbles, ¡el paisaje era impresionante! También disfrutamos mucho de la degustación de vino y queso que organizó para nosotros en una de las noches. Realmente disfruté de quedarme en la cabaña de montaña la primera noche, y luego pasé unas cuantas noches maravillosas con relativo lujo en el hotel en Tavascan. ¡Recomendaría encarecidamente a Miguel y TrekPyrenees a cualquiera que quiera experimentar los Pirineos catalanes!

El conocimiento de Miguel sobre las montañas, la historia y la gramática inglesa fueron una gran combinación. Planificó buenas rutas que coincidían con nuestras capacidades. ¡Recomendaría totalmente un viaje con él!

Just back from a wonderful Snowshoeing trip to the Pyrenees led by Miguel a very experienced qualified mountain guide who is passionate about everything associated with the Pyrenean mountain range. The transfers from the airport to the Hotel Victor in Rialp were seamless as were the daily pickups from the hotel to the starting point and collections from the end point. The standard of cuisine in the Hotel Victor was very high and provided the necessary fuel to see you through the day-breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. If you like the serenity of the mountains in the snow in a small group -far from the madding crowd -then this is the trip for you. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have no hesitation in recommending this trip to you in the very capable hands of Miguel who will do his utmost to provide a most memorable experience.

Miguel is an excellent guide who we used to undertake the Freedom Trail from Tavascan in Catalunya into France to Bidous, then Aulus Les Bains then returning to Tavascan in three days. We felt very safe with Miguel who knows the mountains very well. We also stayed in really good gite d'etaps with excellent food and wine. A truly memorable trip, highly recommended.

El trekking entre Francia y Cataluña fue impresionante por los paisajes y el contexto histórico. Totalmente aconsejable.

Miguel est un guide tres professionnel qui connait parfaitement les Pyrénées. Il nous a proposé plusieurs randonnées adaptées aux familles et comme on s’est décidé un peu tard, il a du jongler plusieurs fois avec les réservations de gites et refuges, ce qu’il a fait avec beaucoup de gentillesse et brio. On se sent en sécurité avec lui car il reconnait les parcours à l’avance et a un téléphone satellite en cas de problème.

Nous avons choisi le plus facile des 2 treks « Chemin de la Liberté » qu’il propose. Vues fabuleuses garanties. On recommande! Le rythme de marche de Miguel pousse les enfants à ne pas trop traîner ;-) mais ceux qui aiment avoir un minimum de confort risquent d’être un peu surpris par le Refuge de Carança!

I've just come back from a week's snowshoeing with Miguel. We typically walked through hidden valleys and forests, reaching peaks and open areas where we could enjoy the spectacular views of the Pyrenees. The weather was sunny - very comfortable for February although not so good for snow, but Miguel planned everything so that we could snowshoe on four of our five days. The day we didn't snowshoe was a great success with our group and it gave us the opportunity to do a very enjoyable winter walk in stunning scenery.

Miguel obviously knows these mountains extremely well and tried to pass this knowledge - and his love of Catalonia - to us over the week. He really put himself out to do this and also worked hard to make sure that all the arrangements went like clockwork.

I would definitely recommend a TrekPyrenees holiday.

We recently did the Freedom Walk with Miguel. We finished the walk in fine spirits having enjoyed beautiful forest and rugged alpine scenery with great hospitality along the way. The walks were tough but the accommodation and meals were splendid, allowing us to start each day afresh.

Miguel led the walk with great expertise and we made our way-marks with precision. He was fine company and also had a very good rapport with the various innkeepers along the way ensuring we had a pleasant experience.

We finished the walk gaining great respect for the brave souls who made this journey to escape the Nazis during WW2 and also for those who assisted them.

We had a wonderful time with Miguel. Everything was very well organised and does he know the mountains! There are literally hundreds of hikes and he knows them all! I am sure he can design walks for any level but for those he want to hike here is your man! He just loves the mountains and will take you up and down from dawn to dusk! Great time, really good value and to be thoroughly recommended

Thanks for suggesting this other trail to another part of the Catalan Pyrenees ranges, Val d' Aran. So great! U want to ensure there was enough snow for our snowshoeing activity) We enjoyed it very much. Our "exhausting" climb to the top were rewarded with the "awesome" & "impressive" mountain ranges, so close up to us! What a marvellous winter-wonderland scenery!
We also like the cosy dining room of Xalet Refugi Juli & the lovely, warmth lady boss & staff members.

(February 2018) My partner and I were part of a Bristol based walking group that wanted to try snow-shoeing. We had 4 full days of mixed walking both in the snow and along tracks. Miguel is an excellent guide and knows how to get the best out of you. Coupled with his extensive Catalan knowledge and GSOH it was a very memorable and enjoyable trip.
