Hice cuatro semanas de choque de español para principiantes, incluidas algunas lecciones individuales durante noviembre de 2023. El número de clases suele ser de 8 a 10, aunque tuve una clase con 12. Me alegró mucho que me asignaran tareas que estaban calificadas y con comentarios útiles y alentadores. . Cuando tuvimos que irnos unos días antes de lo previsto, me dijeron que podía utilizar las clases que ya había pagado en cualquier momento en el futuro. Todo el personal de El Carmen es profesional, amable, increíblemente servicial y flexible. Gracias a todos.

Pasé casi cuatro semanas aprendiendo español en El Carmen. Era un principiante total con solo unas pocas horas de aprendizaje en una aplicación. El equipo administrativo fue genial. La enseñanza también muy buena. Nos presionaron e hicimos muchas tareas (es opcional), y eso ayudó con nuestro aprendizaje. Por suerte para mí hablan despacio con mucha repetición y revisión de secciones. Tuvimos tres profesores diferentes y aprendimos cosas diferentes de cada uno. Gracias a todos en la escuela El Carmen por una base sólida en español.

Todos las profesoras son muy paciente y amable, siempre me ayudaron cuando necesitaba.

Estuve un mes estudiando en El Carmen y ¡fue la mejor decisión! Realmente recomiendo la escuela. Ojalá tuviera más tiempo para estudiar allí.

The best Spanish school in Valencia! The staff members are exceptionally friendly, the prices are affordable, and the most remarkable aspect is the incredible teacher I was fortunate enough to have (Patricia), who was absolutely outstanding! Tomé clases en la escuela desde octubre de 2022 hasta febrero de 2023. Decidí inscribirme específicamente en esta escuela debido a sus críticas positivas. No soy un escritor de reseñas típico, pero después de plantear estos problemas internamente, creo que es justo escribirlos también aquí, porque me hubiera gustado estar al tanto de estas cosas antes de inscribirme en esta escuela.

No cabe duda de que los profesores son amables y conocerás a mucha gente estupenda en las clases. No puedo dar ningún comentario sobre las clases para principiantes, pero si tu objetivo es mejorar adecuadamente tu español en el nivel B2-C1 e incluso prepararte para un examen DELE, lamentablemente no puedo recomendar esta escuela.

La organización y calidad de la escuela y de las clases careció de profesionalidad durante los meses que estuve allí.

Antes de registrarme tuve una clase de prueba después de la cual decidí inscribirme en las clases. Desafortunadamente, no me di cuenta de que durante la clase de prueba tenía un maestro que no daría las clases (cuando el objetivo de una clase de prueba es ver si te gusta el estilo de enseñanza del maestro). Además, en línea decía que si te registras por al menos 10 semanas, obtendrás una actividad organizada por la escuela de forma gratuita. Después de preguntar sobre la actividad gratuita, nadie parecía tener conocimiento de lo que escribieron en su sitio web y me informaron que a partir de octubre ya no organizan ninguna actividad. Sin embargo, después de estos dos eventos desafortunados, me mantuve con la mente abierta y positiva para las próximas semanas.

Los siguientes meses en esta escuela se pueden resumir de la siguiente manera: 4 maestros en solo 10 semanas, lo que dificultó lograr una estructura ya que todos tenían una forma diferente de enseñar. Con la primera maestra hubo varios problemas con su forma de enseñar que terminaron en que los estudiantes ya no asistieran a clases. Después de que diferentes estudiantes plantearon estos problemas varias veces internamente, la escuela finalmente comenzó a actuar en consecuencia. Sin embargo, esto todavía no cambió el hecho de gastar mucho dinero en malas clases durante más de 3 semanas. Aparte de esto, la escuela no ofreció una clase C1, lo que contradecía las declaraciones anteriores. Después de que varios estudiantes plantearon la necesidad de una clase C1, primero nos aseguramos de que tenían como objetivo crear una. Después de varias semanas, estábamos constantemente estancados. No hubo comunicación transparente en absoluto. Esto resultó en clases extremadamente monótonas donde teníamos que trabajar por tercera vez en el mismo ejercicio o hablar sobre los mismos temas nuevamente. Esto fue una pena, porque para los nuevos estudiantes que subieron de nivel de B1 a B2 todo era nuevo y desafiante, mientras que para el resto era simplemente repetitivo, por lo que esto no era justo para nadie. Además de eso, los ejercicios y temas que eran objeto de las clases a menudo estaban desactualizados. Si hubiera podido recuperar mi dinero para las clases restantes, hubiera preferido recuperarlo y cambiarme a otra escuela, pero lamentablemente no fue posible. Después de poder comparar esta escuela con otras escuelas de idiomas en las que también he estado, me engañaron las críticas positivas y, en general, me decepcionó mucho mi experiencia en esta escuela.

¡La mejor escuela de español en Valencia! Los miembros del personal son excepcionalmente amables, los precios son asequibles y el aspecto más notable es la increíble maestra que tuve la suerte de tener (Patricia), ¡que fue absolutamente excepcional! Su conocimiento y entusiasmo por la enseñanza son claramente evidentes. Estoy profundamente agradecido por todo.:)

Excelente escuela con sede en El Carmen. Necesitaba un curso intensivo para aprender español porque quiero mudarme a València. Las clases son informales, con una amplia variedad de nacionalidades y edades. Miriam, nuestra profesora, tenía capacidad para abordar todos los niveles de fluidez y lo hacía con humor. Las lecciones cubren un tema cada día y es sorprendente cuánto puedes desarrollar tu vocabulario, siempre y cuando revises lo que te han enseñado. El equipo administrativo también fue muy comunicativo y flexible. Regresaré a finales de este año y retomaré.

The spanish school is good.if you play by their rules

If all you have do is studying Spanish at El Carmen Spanish school - Go for it!
If you have a main hustle - like a real Job (40 hours per week, classic 08: 00-17: 00) and there will be days that you won't make it in time. Just don't choose El Carmen.

I was working outside of Valencia so it was always a hustle to get there. Also when unpredictable things happened at work that made me stay longer, and I wasn't able to cancel the class anymore (you can only cancel them 24h before), I had to stress myself even more just to appreciate at least a bit of the classes which I spend my money on. Not their fault. I know. But at my last day of class they didn't allow me to enter the class because i was 47 minutes late. Even though that means there were 73 minutes left to enjoy. The explanation was: that the teacher already started explaining.
I don't see my late arrival causing a HUGE interruption in class. We are all adults and just enter the room silently and sit down, that is how it worked before. The teacher also does not really make an effort to catch people up that are coming late (which is fine by me).

I don't really get why they were that strict. I pay for the class, I am a silent person and don't feel like it is too much to ask to just sit in class and listen.

Besides that I also want to point out that "encouraging" people to speak in class.sometimes felt like "forcing".

Llevaba siete meses estudiando en El Carmen Spanish School. Fue mi mejor experiencia en España. Todos los profesores son muy simpáticos. En esta escuela aprendí no solo español sino también cultura española. ¡Me encanta y te recomiendo!

Very good school for learning Spanish. Everyone has been very responsive and polite. I am now taking private lessons because the large class environment was not working for me. In the large class environment they speak Spanish only and you do not have the ability to ask and respond like you can in a private lesson. I understand why they teach the classes like that, but for me, it is better one on one with the teacher and it is a good experience.

Great Spanish school, nice casual/relaxed and fun classes, enthusiastic teachers and excellent facilities. The most notable experience for me was *not* looking at the clock wondering when the class would be over! That's a good sign of engaging learning. I've definitely gained lots of confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.

La scuola è proprio nel centro del Carmen, molto facile da raggiungere. Il personale e gli insegnanti sono accoglienti ed il metodo d'insegnamento, a mio parere, risulta efficace: si studia la struttura delle frasi e la grammatica collegandola sempre ad argomenti di attualità o personali, il che la rende più comprensibile e facile da ricordare. L'interazione con gli studenti e il docente è costante: si è sempre spronati a parlare. Forse una selezione più attenta dei gruppi-classe in base alle reali capacità di esprimersi, potrebbe essere più stimolante per l'apprendimento.

Online classes are great. Communication is very smooth with the school and contents of the classes very diversified.
I will attend again in few months.

Okay, first of all, I NEVER write any reviews. Only for this one I made an exception.
I can only recommend the school El Carmen if you want to learn or/and improve your Spanish. The familiar, warm and welcoming atmosphere will capture you and take any sorts of fear away that you might feel when it comes to learning a language.
I know the team of El Carmen for over 5 years now and they helped me from what is basically considered an A0 level to a C1+ level in Spanish within 1-2 years. At this point, I am able to conduct scientific research in Spanish, which is something that I never thought I could accomplish.
The professors are incredibility talented at what they are doing, and more importantly, they LOVE teaching the language in an interactive, fun manner (there is activities such as city walks, lunches, other get-togethers, etc.).
At one point I could not believe how fast I was making progress.

Elísabeth and her team are wonderful people and they try everything in order to customize the classes according to your needs. If you are looking for a place to learn Spanish, this is the right address for you!

And by the way: the location in the historic center of Valencia is very unique and an absolute plus in my opinion.

I had only one month there of only 6hrs per week and I have reached my goals: to start speaking, to get a habit of constant learning and to get enough vocabulary to feel comfortable with communication. I HIGHLY recommend El Carmen Spanish School for learning Spanish! The teachers and staff are so friendly and motivating. I have / have had both Laura and Nuria as teachers and they are both amazing! Honestly, if it wasn't for my classes here I would not have the confidence or knowledge that I do when speaking Spanish out and about in the city.

Same goes for my husband, he started classes at level B1 (as he studied Spanish growing up) and right after his first week of classes his confidence and knowledge boosted so much!

Absolutely loved learning Spanish at this school in Valencia. The quality of teaching was really high, the school itself was incredibly inviting and the additional activities and book clubs that were organised were enriching. They also made sure that the high quality of learning and activities continued online during the coronavirus lockdown as well!

Además, desde que empecé las clases he mejorado un montón y ya me siento tranquila para hablar con los nativos sin que mi mente se quede en blanco jajaja las profes son estupendas y muy listas, las clases son dinámicas y nada aburridas, el trato con los estudiantes tiene nota 10 y el ambiente es acogedor, es como si tuviéramos en nuestra casa ¡Vosotras merecéis el suceso!

I am learning Spanish online and Raquel is THE BEST teacher ever! She makes lessons so fun and I am learning so much. She makes it easy to understand the grammatical structures that I have always struggled with and I know that I can achieve my learning goals here.

El Carmen is an excellent school in which to study Spanish. They are professional, enthusiastic and innovative. I can honestly say Ängela is the best language teacher I have had; in her classes you have plenty of opportunity to speak and ask questions and the lesson is well paced, interesting and relevant.
The price is very good and discounts are available, the more weeks you book, the cheaper it gets. I can´t recommend El Carmen Spanish School highly enough.

El Carmen Spanish school is a little gem in the heart of Valencia. So grateful to have had the opportunity to study Spanish there. Always enjoyed my classes and got so much out of them. This is a lovely, modern school in the heart of the Old town in El Carmen, Valencia. The teachers are friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. Each lesson is usually themed and consists of a warm up chat in Spanish followed by a grammar point, which is explained clearly on the board followed by controlled practice.
The students are from all over the world; England, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, U. S. A, so it has a very International feel. They do intensives, and extensive courses too, which means if you live here, you can go all year once or twice a week, depending on your schedule. They are pretty flexible, have lots of classes at different levels and different hours and also do one to one.
You do need to supplement with studying yourself at home and going to intercambios to practise speaking but I can wholeheartedly recommend this school both in terms of value for money and professionalism. Five stars)

This is the best language school I have been to. I have tried Spanish in 3 different schools in Valencia and this is the school that mached and exceeded everything one could expect from language courses. Super friendly team, they are genuinely dedicated to what they do and look after their students. Groups are small, classes are very efficient and teachers are lovely, caring and professional. Me gusta mucho mas ️
